A Journey into What Goes Bump in the Night, Aug 30 2007
By D. Allen "Wolfman" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Shadow World: True Encounters with Beings from the Darkside (Paperback)
Have you ever experienced strange occurrences? Have you seen and heard things that go bump in the night? If not, have you ever wondered what may be behind such numerous tales down through the centuries?
Once again, one of Brad Steiger's masterworks has been re-released, this one from 7 years ago. Again, in the style that has made Brad one of the primer researchers/writers on all things strange, Brad takes us on a fascinating journey into the unknown, this time on spirits...not benevolent, but this time malevolent. This non-fiction quest leads us on the path and questions all manor of where dark beings originate. We explore spirit contacts, poltergeists, animal spirits, nature spirits, spirit mimics and look into what makes certain people magnets that seem to attract entities from the dark side. If you love ghost stories (fiction), then read this some night before going to bed. This one is guaranteed to chill you to the bone, more so than any work of fiction.

What you get, is not always seen, Oct 9 2007
By David Thesing - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Shadow World: True Encounters with Beings from the Darkside (Paperback)
When I bought Shadow World, I was looking for answers. Chapter six had everything I was looking for. This book was such a good read that I read it in one sitting. Great writing, with a style that holds your attention from word one until the last word on the last page. This book covers all of the topic of ghost with eye ball accounts from the people who have been there.

A Good Story Never dies..., Oct 26 2008

In a day when books on Ghosts contain references to infrared film, thermal camera displays and milligauss meters, Steiger's narrative style still shines above the competition. All the technical proof in the world doesn't convey the chill of a concise, well written paragraph that puts you toe to toe with the unexplained. In this book Steiger takes on the darkside. The book defines some apparition types that you have probably heard of before if you read this genre. Thankfully, it doesn't belabor them or get heavy handed about who sent them or exactly how to get rid of one.
