About the Author
Karen Marie Moning is the New York Times bestselling author of the Fever series, featuring MacKayla Lane, and the award-winning Highlander series. Great finish to a wonderful series,

****Spoilers!!!***I have decided to edit my review of this novel - I have since gone back and re-read certain parts of the novel after knowing the ending. Let me just say this - this book is brilliant. It is a wonderful journey that you have to take from the very beginning: Darkfever to this final book in the series: Shadowfever. You feel for the characters, you hurt with the characters and you hope for the characters. I was very pleased with the conclusion of the journey. Not only is it very well written - it flows and moves it's way through a great deal of adventure and love with ease. It is a joy to read. It answers the questions you need answered and promises a return to the fever series through the eyes of some of the other characters. It gives me hope that we have not heard the last of Mac and her story - although you still feel like it was resolved. I am horribly sad that it is over - but at the same time I was not left feeling hollow as I sometimes am after a great series is over. I am very happy with the way KMM guided us through the Fever world and how she concluded the long anticipated love story. I was worried she would go back to her roots (the highlander series - which I loved but it wouldn't have fit here) and the love story would take a dangerous turn towards cheesy - but it never did. *** Spoilers *** After re-reading all the parts with Mac and Barrons - I glowed - reading it the first time I didn't catch all the undercurrent to everything they said to each other - and how in the end you really understand that their love is real and forever. I am excited to read her continued adventures in the fever world - and to get the few outstanding items from these novels resolved **what will Mac owe to the Grey lady and the king, how will Mac and Dani resolve the huge issue between them, will the other beasts find comfort as Barrons has after all these years and finally what will happen with Christian*** KMM is an amazing writer - I didn't really realize how great until this series - I am so happy she stepped away from the highlander series to write this one. I recommend this series 100% - loved it. I also recommend the Sookie Stackhouse series and the Mercy Thompson Series too! Enjoy!

A Great Ending to a Fantastic Series,

If you have read and enjoyed the other four books in this series, you won't be let down by the final installment. Morning does a fantastic job of tying together loose ends while leaving just enough open that for the possibility of a sequel. Readers will be captivated throughout the book, right up until a surprising twist at the end. If you haven't read the rest of the series, I suggest you start now but be warned; you may not be able to put the books down once you start. They are well written, captivating with just enough romance to satisfy the romantics but not so much as to turn away those seeking a thrilling read. This book, and this series, will not disappoint.
