Product Description

On a high plateau in the heart of Asia lies Shan, the holy site where men are tested and the deepest secrets of Eastern mysticism are revealed. Enter into the challenge of Jake Maroc, a man of almost supernatural gifts, who is commissioned to help China fulfill its ancient destiny--as the future of the world hangs in the balance.

From the Paperback edition.

Ingram

Jake Maroc must regain his lost power of ba-mahk--inner spiritual strength--to defeat his deadly enemies: the KGB, the Japanese opium warlords and the divisive forces within China itself. Only then can he preserve the precarious world power balance--and China's destiny. HC: Villard. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

By A Customer
This review is from: Shan (Mass Market Paperback)
Jake Maroc has been subjected to the mutilation of his wife, daughter and now his father. He must return to a place to recover his strength to carry on and fight his oppressors......whoever they are. Following this is a tale of the workings of Hong Kong and it's neighbours. Add in the interest of the KGB, Communist China and a private vendetta and you will have an understanding of the complex plot in this novel.

This review is from: Shan (Hardcover)
Jake Maroc's family have had it rough, and this has been rough on him. He decides to get back into the spirit of the whole martial arts thing, rather than using it to take out ganglords.

Not going to be that easy though, as there are still spies, communists and other undersirables around to be dealth with.
