OK, Let me first say that this is the BEST degrassi kid book ever. Shane was barely a story line in Degrassi but thanks to the author of this book we learn so much about Shane. How insecure he is. How sheltered his life is and how he lets people influence him over the edge. Shane was a good kid. Church going, quiet and a loner, until he gets Spike pregnant. After that his whole life turns upside down and inside out. Shane doesn't know how to handle it all, he just wants to be a good kid. But now that he is going to become a father his parents think the worst of him. Shane gets into some sticky situations. Will he be able to handle life as a father and son? You'll see!

I love reading. Fantasy, historical fiction, whatever: you name it, I've probably read it. My favorite kinds of books are stories about real teens just like you and me. After getting hooked into the amazingly realistic Degrassi: The next generation and watching the episode "Father Figure", I decided to read this book.
This is the best of the Degrassi Jr. High series books. They are downright amazing and realistic. If you've seen Degrassi: The next generation, you'll know about Emma and Spike. Shane, the character in this book, is Emma's dad. He's just a normal kid, struggling to survive in a messed-up world, just like we all are. When he gets his girlfriend pregnant, he is faced with the consequences.
If you've seen the episode Father Figure, you know Emma hasn't seen him for 11 years. Why, you might ask?
I don't want to give away the ending of this amazing book. So why not go out and read it yourself? I promise, you won't regret it.
So, signing off. Maybe I'm done blabbing about this book, and I hope I've convinced you to buy it. It's amazing! It really deals with the life of a teenager, just like you, or me.
A devout Degrassi fan and book lover,
