2.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Bad, July 6 2004
This review is from: Shark Zone (DVD)
Another movie using actresses seemingly straight out of soft porn. It's fun to watch them die onscreen sure, but it's redundant. I'm not surprised to read it's by the Shark Attack people. They're terrible too, but of course if they make a #4, I will rent it knowing it will be stupid. <sigh>

2.0 out of 5 stars Another lame Shark Movie, Jun 11 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Shark Zone (DVD)
Bad acting and bad effects make this movie awful. This movie was a little intresting, but could have been WAY WAY better. They coppied the same scenes from Shark Attack 2 and showed them over and over. When lots of great white sharks are killing tons of people at a beach resort ,its up to Wagner to kill them.It got pretty borring and made me want to go to sleep.Im warning you,do not see this movie!

2.0 out of 5 stars Shark Attack 4?, Jun 3 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Shark Zone (DVD)
It might as well be, since it was made by Nu Image (the production company behind the Shark Attack films) and most of the crew members worked on the Shark Attack films. The plot's fairly simple: a school of sharks terrorize San Francisco, with a suplot about the Russian mafia thrown in for padding. I read some bad reviews for this movie before I rented the DVD last Saturday, so that's maybe why I sort of liked it, since I was expecting a bad movie. The acting wasn't very good, and the sharks were about 90% stock footage. The other methods were:
1. Scenes lifted from Shark Attack 2 (2000)
2. A very brief video-game quality CGI shot
3. Plastic fins
4. Scenes lifted from Shark Attack 3: Megalodon (2002)
5. Brief shots of a rubbery mouth.
6. A brief shot of an explosion from either Octopus (1999) or Jaws 3 (1982). It's hard to tell.
The sharks, which are great whites, don't act like sharks. For starters, they growl and roar, just like the sharks in Shark Attack 2 (2000). Second, great whites never swim in schools. They are independent creatures. And of course, sharks don't actually like the taste of people, but oh well. Another problem was the subplot, which was pretty boring and useless, except for padding, which I mentioned before. The acting isn't very good, and the music is dull and boring. Just one more thing: a couple people said the sharks ate a lot of people. Don't forget, there are 5 or 6 sharks in this movie, and together they only off about 25 people. As for the DVD, it's presented in full frame, which is really stupid. There are no special features, save for a 90-second trailer. I recommend only a rental, unless you like it.
