Quite honestly, this is one of the best games I have ever played on PSP, and one of the top games out of any system. This game is good for both newbies to the genre and people who have already played one of the first two editions of this game. First off, this enhancement offers a brand new perspective to play from, making this game replayable for even people who have bought the first two editions of this game. You can choose between either the male or female perspectives, which (slightly) changes major plot events, but each perspectives offers totally new social links, one of the things that make this game so unique. Basically, the social link is similar to a dating sim game; you increase your affinity with different people untill your able to reap the rewards, however in this game the major reward is a stat boost to the creatures you summon in battle. Oh yeah, and each social link comes complete with its own cutscenes, which are a blast to experience. This enhanced port of the original game doubles the amount of social links available, offering enhanced replay value. The battle system in this game has also been enhanced over the original. You choose which actions you wish to take and fight the enemy, a strategy-rpg. However, this version also allows you to control your teammates actions, something which without proved hazardous in major battles in the original. Overall, this is a great remake of the game, which newcomers and veterans can both enjoy.

I own three versions of this game and if I could only have one it would be P3P. There were so many positive changes made to the game which help streamline and enrich the experience.

PROS:
All new female character with new social links and situations. Great for a second playthrough.
Streamlined overworld map. Just move the cursor over the objects/people you want to interact with. No more (extremely slow) running around.
New personas to fuse and collect.
It's portable Persona 3! You can take it anywhere!
Alternate velvet room assistant with new dialogue and voice acting.
New Void Quest challenge with optional boss
Ever-amazing soundtrack
Level grinding seems less tedious on a portable console; it's easy to put in fifteen minutes here and there.
Controllable AI (no more uncontrollable strings of debuffs)
Missing Person quests

CONS:
The anime cut-scenes were removed due to space constraints. The lack of cut-scenes is definitely the biggest con. The voice acting is still in tact (complete with character portraits) but the game is definitely weaker without them.
Fusion Spells are now one time use cards and Armageddon (the most powerful fusion spell) is extremely difficult to obtain.

P3P is definitely the best version of the game though I would recommend FES for a first playthrough as it has the cut-scenes. If you've already played Persona 3 and are thinking of going through again, try the all new female perspective with new social links.

Initially, I thought it was going to be a pretty lighthearted high school JRPG and I only played it because of its high reviews. I was kind of wrong about the lighthearted part, since it has a pretty dark edge to it. What was even more surprising is that the grind was actually fun. I highly recommend this game to fans of JRPG who are bored with the old "sword & sorcery" genre.

This was my first game within the Persona series and by playing this, it introduced me to other Persona games. It's too bad that there are no animations and character movement like Persona FES. The only time the characters move are when you're in battle and exploring Tartarus. Nevertheless, it was an amazing game!

bought this game on a whim after just hearing about it, but definitely worth it, although I heard that it lacks one of the sweeter parts of the PS2 versions known as "The Answer," but heard also that all the updates in this version are amazing.
