Review

"Whether from envy or curiosity, people love to know what lies in big, private collections. So one must give thanks that British Columbia real-estate magnate Michael Audain was coaxed into displaying his treasures at the Vancouver Art Gallery in an exhibition that runs until Jan. 29. This catalogue reveals a collector with fine eclectic taste that veers, as the exhibition title implies, toward the native and the B.C. outdoors." (Montreal Gazette 20111202)

"Over the past 50 years, Vancouver builder/philanthropist Michael Audain has amassed an eye-popping collection of art. This catalogue for an Vancouver Art Gallery exhibition includes a stunning collection of aboriginal masks as well as master works by the likes of Emily Carr, Diego Rivera and Jeff Wall, treasures which usually hang on Audain's home and office walls."

(Globe & Mail 2011 Books for Giving )
