5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Read, Mar 24 2010
By Bailey - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: It Should Be a Crime (Paperback)
Morgan Bradley and Parker Casey meet in an alley and share a night of anonymous
sex. They expect to never meet again, but a few weeks later they do. This time
Parker is a third year law student sitting in Professor Bradley's Advanced
Evidence Practicum. For professional and ethical reasons the two try to distance
themselves from the strong attraction they feel.

Morgan and Parker both have interesting back stories that bring them to this
point in their lives. They get involved in a murder trial and we get to see the
inner workings of the criminal justice system.

The author, Carsen Taite, practices criminal law. Her inside knowledge puts a
realistic stamp on all the legal action in the story.

This book is a triple threat...a romance, a murder mystery and a courtroom
drama. It's a very enjoyable, easy read.

5.0 out of 5 stars It Should be a Crime, Jan 23 2010
By K. Isserman "Kisserman" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: It Should Be a Crime (Paperback)
Law professor Morgan Bradley, and law student, Parker Casey, are potential love interests, but throw in a high profile murder trial, and you've got an entertaining book that can be read in one sitting. The author practices criminal law in real life, and thus the insider knowledge of the criminal justice system is obvious. It was woven seamlessly into the love story with excellent timing. One did not overpower the other, and the author did not reveal any plot points too early. I find romances lacking when the characters become totally different women when they fall in love. But this was not the case here. As Morgan and Parker grew closer, their relationship was portrayed accurately; their personalities did not change dramatically. I look forward to reading more from Taite.

5.0 out of 5 stars Riveting 'Who Done It', Dec 6 2009
By E. B. MULLIGAN "Bronwyn" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: It Should Be a Crime (Paperback)
There is so much plot in this book that keeps you wondering where the author is going to take you next!

Living in Dallas, Texas, thirty-four year old Parker Casey is top of her class in law school, and will have her pick of any firm when she graduates. She is working her way through graduate school by tending bar, liked by all who know her, but what you learn about the decade before she became a law student will impact all around her.

Morgan Bradley is not having the best week of her forty year old life. She is a high profile lawyer who could retire at any time after tremendous success in court and has a national reputation as a defense counsel who can win cases for high-profile clients. Her lover of ten years has just turned their lives upside down after they have moved to Dallas and the last thing she probably needs is a new relationship with anyone.

Beyond the intriguing mystery of who murdered Camille Burke, beyond the love story, is the background of what it takes to bring a case to trial. I was completely entertained by all the side stories and bits of information what added up to a wholly satisfying read. Lots of dry humor thrown in make the characters very human and fit the story.

Can't wait to read more from this author.
