The beginning of this movie was hilarious... Especially the cake part... But it fizzles quite quickly after that. Watch Scary Movie instead.

my personal feeling is that this movie is better than any of the Scary
Movie Films.i found it more relevant and clever.it is better paced,with
no real spots that lag.the jokes do fly literally about every few
seconds.i woudn't say it is funny,but there are some very amusing
moments.i particularly liked the end stages of the film.to me,this film
is lighter in tone than the Scary Movie franchise.it's also not as
gross.the violence is also less graphic,and the language is much
tamer.there is very little in the way of nudity,and most of the sexual
situations are implied.the movie is rated R,but i'm not sure why.after
watching it,i thought it would be PG-1,at most.i checked the rating
after watching,and i'm really surprised.from my viewpoint, i think this
movie would be suitable for most kids 13 or older,but parents should
use their discretion,of course.either way,i thought this movie was
pretty entertaining all the way through.it's no masterpiece,but i give
this movie a 3/5

I was recently watching "Scary Movie" on my computer for the "Guide for the Culturally Challenged" and I thought I read somewhere that the script for Scary Movie was originally going to be "Shriek If You Know What I Did Last Friday the 13th"! Not only that but on some of the featurettes, the Wayans Bros. said they went through MANY MANY scripts before finalizing the Scary Movie script. Then, I went back to the computer and watch the scene/script pages and the majority of the scences in Shriek matched those on the pages of the "Scary Movie" script better than "Scary Movie" did. That is to say if my memory serves me correctly, I haven't seen Shriek in a LONG time because well, Canadian = almost no US Networks. Plus there is the fact that I've only seen it be displayed on The Movie Network like 3 times total. [Note: I saw Shriek in like I dunno, 2000 or something and the last time I watched the "Scary Movie Guide" was about maybe 6 months ago, I just happened to come across Shriek here on Amazon]
