Book Description

August 2002
Perhaps the scientist in the well-known Far Side cartoon said it best when he remarked, "It's time we face reality, my friends. We're not exactly rocket scientists." To be sure, many of the characters in Gary Larson's cartoons often have, over the years, exhibited a level of intelligence somewhat less than, say, the average phone psychic patron ("The charge is $7.95 a minute, will you hold, please?). In fact, the history of The Far Side is littered with instances of kids pushing doors clearly marked "pull," of cows perched on electric fences, and of dinosaurs with brains "about the size of a walnut." For this calendar, we've delved to the depths of that great mine of stupidity and emerged with no fewer than fifty-three gleaming nuggets of downright dumbness. Not only will you be amused throughout the year, you'll also feel darn smart for having the good sense to buy this calendar (instead of, perhaps, a Psychic Pals phone card).

4.0 out of 5 stars Coulda been better Nov. 17 2002
The book is the perfect size, the daily boxes are big and great for writing appointments and such down, but when writing on the back of a picture, the color transfers onto the next page, so you end up with a carbon copy.

The actual comics are not the 'best' of the Far Side, but will still make you chuckle.
