Sideline Secrets

The story is typical of a teen who does not accept himself fully yet.The actors who plays the father and the mother are both VERY BAD but the young actors are good to excellent.
Too bad the parents were so awfull...

It is worth seeing nevertheless.

4.0 out of 5 stars Director's Cut, Mar 11 2007

Basic point blank: I thought the movie was okay. We originally rented it from Blockbuster. Not normally a movie I would buy, but my husband loves it. The basic idea of the story line was pretty good, but it could have been better written. The acting was also kinda atrocious. I guess that's what you get, when a bunch of gay porn stars try to make a "real" movie. Also there seemed to be a couple of spots in the film where they decided to print, even though they were obviously having sound equipment difficulties. I highly recommend the Director's Cut version of this film. There is some added stuff to the scenes, and some of them have been re-arranged. It really makes the movie flow better.

5.0 out of 5 stars laugh out loud funny, July 29 2007

It couldn't have been easy making this movie. Searching the far corners of the earth for the worst actors in history must have taken a long time. But they accomplished just that in this movie. And who else could have accomplished that other than the worst director in the history of directing? This movie is hilarious and for all the wrong reasons. The climax in particular is just hysterical. When the two bad guys shoot each other...omg. And when the mother busts in with the gun? I completely lost it. I highly recommend this as a rental. It'll be the funniest movie you've seen in a long time.

I'm not sure this qualifies as the worst piece of rubbish I've ever seen, but it has to be in the top five. Even judging by the worst porn industry standards, this is a crappy film. It's like a bad porn, without the sex.

There's a formula for this sort of mess. Start with a cast of nondescript to unattractive boys that can't act their way out of a paper bag. Add about three mature actors that obviously never got hired for anything in Hollywood that got them closer than a half mile from a camera. Mix them in a large, tired plot. And sprinkle with lousy music. Then tie your audience down for an hour or so of torture. Even for soft porn, this was disappointing. And generally speaking, I can manage to enjoy a little soft porn, no matter how bad the plot or the acting. Maybe that's because even the worst soft porn films find cute actors to take your mind off the sex you won't be seeing. You feel like you get a little eye candy. Something pleasing to watch. These guys were NOT CUTE, and there was nothing pleasing about "Sideline Secrets".

Avoid this film at any cost. If there was a shred of conscience in the heart of the director, he'd refund the purchase price to every buyer.
