If you are a fan of Alfred Hitchcock, you must have this book. Altough, I have to say, it is very specialized. Maybe not just in psychoanalysis but in technical aspects that made the book boring in some articles.The best writer is Slavoj Zizek (who is the compilator) and the introduction is superb.
It is not necessary for you to see the movies to understand the articles, but, obviously, it is better if you had already seen them
I would recommend you to choose the book in your own language, because there are some technicisms, that make more difficult the lecture.
