Very detailed and to the point. Well picked screenshots for visual aid. Maps well drawn and labeled. Not much else to say.

Must-Have for Downpour Aug. 20 2012
By Michael S. Valle - Published on

If you are going to play Downpour, you will need to check the Internet a lot, or just have this book on hand. The puzzles in Downpour are stupidly and annoyingly difficult and sometimes I needed this book to continue. I give it four stars because the print is tiny and almost impossible to read sometimes.

Helpful guidebook for Silent Hill Downpour Dec 5 2012

Not a bad guide book. It helped me solved the problems and tells me where I go. The game is quite big, expansive and I didn't know what to do or where to go and this book helped me very much. Of course, that's what these guide book are for.

A Messy Walkthrough March 21 2012
By Amazon Customer - Published on
Format: Paperback
I've used strategy guides for many types of games including RPGs, adventure games and almost all of the previous Silent Hill games. This one fails dramatically in its key purpose: to walk you through the game in an orderly manner and help you find the clues needed to solve puzzles. This newest chapter of Silent Hill features, for the first time, many optional side missions which were designed to add longevity to the gameplay. Unfortunately, the guide's author seemed stumped in how to handle these missions and adds them haphazardly throughout the main walkthrough. Since some areas of the town's map are not immediately available, the guide becomes very difficult to follow and I found myself having to flip back and forth through the guide because I was now in an area of the map that was referenced 20 pages before. Since the side missions are optional, they should have been addressed in an entirely different section from the main walkthrough, allowing the player to access them as he/she nears the end of the game and when the town is fully accessible.

Other issues included poorly described puzzles and solutions accompanied by unhelpful photos. There were also multiple lockers that required a combination to open but they were not even mentioned in the guide. I came to find out much later that the combination was only available if the game had been pre-ordered. I wasted a lot of time looking for clues to these lockers which a simple notation in the guide could have alleviated.

In the end, I decided to just ignore the guide entirely and try to complete as many missions as I could without assistance. The guide proved to be more frustrating than the game itself.

Very Helpful July 23 2012

Although the game was more of a let down to what I imagined the book was helpful to get through a few small parts. I bought it near the launch of the game since I couldnt find any tips online.

Its better than nothing but still March 24 2012

There are alot of things to like about this guide but the actual walkthrough itself only works about 1/3 way through the game then sorta gets confusing, you may have to flip back and forth between any two parts at any given time.

Also the guide has a decent table of weapons and creatures but for some reason not all of them? I got a rifle and a golden gun and while there locations are mentioned, they are not shown in the contents of weapons.

I only recommend this if you are like me and a clutz with the silent hill games. I am playing with a friend and she is using the guide while i play through the games.

I agree with the other reviewer on most everything tho.
