5.0 out of 5 stars Not Read Far to Long, July 6 2000
By Cora Gero - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Silhouette Desire 1006: The Cowboy and the Cradle (Paperback)
My name is Cora and I live in Chicago. I love all of Cait Logan's book and I can't understand why took it so long to read this one. But it's about one of the Tallchief clan - Duncan Tallchief head of the family and Sybil White. Duncan is of Indian and Scottish blood and that along give him the making of an usual hero. The cradle is a missing family heirloom that was lost over the years. Thiers is a lovestory most women can only read about in books and hope in vain to have a love story like this. The meeting between the two is one that can only occur in print but is so believable. Ms Logan has a way of the making the most unbeliveable believable (sorry) but this the only word I can come up with. Her cast of players all come alive with Cait giving them all the faults and qualities that make them come alive.

Sybil come to Duncan seeking help in locating her daughter who has been kipnapped by her ex-husband not the father of her daughter. You have to read the story to find out the past that claims both Duncan and Sybill to the road that ..well read and enjoy if you can find copies. This is my first review

5.0 out of 5 stars The First & the Best!, April 29 2010
By Mariah - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Silhouette Desire 1006: The Cowboy and the Cradle (Paperback)
The Cowboy and the Cradle is the first in Cait London's original Tallchief series and IMHO it is by far the best.

Duncan Tallchief, the eldest of the five siblings, is a proud man who undertook a lot of responsibility early in life to keep his brothers and sisters together after their parents were killed in a store robbery. He's fiercely devoted to them but like his ancestors before him is stubborn and proud. Known as a tracker, his reputation brings him Sybil White who is in need of help finding her daughter. This starts a wonderful and lively time between two people with similiar fierce devotion but who live very different lives. It's a great time. Emily is a fun character as Ms. London really does bring out her childish innocence.

It's probably hard to find these days but it's certainly recommended to romance readers.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great start to what promises to be a great series., Jan 19 2005

This review is from: Silhouette Desire 1006: The Cowboy and the Cradle (Paperback)
Duncan Tallchief is the eldest of 5 siblings. He has raised them since their parents were murdered when he was 18. Duncan, Calum, Birk, Elspeth & Fiona all vowed to stay together. Officials wanted the 4 younger children to go into homes, but Duncan took responsibility for them all. When their parents were murdered, the boys tracked the killer in their mountain & bought him to justice.

The Tallchief's made a vow. There is a legends attached to the dowry their great, great, grandmother Una bought to her husband, a sioux chieftain. The dowry had to be sold to save their home. Each of them had to find a piece each. This gave them hope, something to focus on during the tough times of the childhood. Duncan's was the cradle that his ancestors had slept in.

Along came Sybil. Her teenage daughter had been kidnapped. She wants Duncan to find her. After hearing about the legend attached to the cradle from Duncan's sister Elspeth, Sybil traces it & gives it to Duncan as payment for finding her daughter Emily, as he will not accept any payment from her.

This story really griped me from the 1st. page. I love the legend behind the missing dowry. Each one has its own legend, which i'm sure we will find out about in the rest of the series.

The next one (Bk.2) is "Tallchief's bride", which is Calum & Talia Petrovna's story.
