It can, in fact, take temperatures as low as-76 degrees F (-60 C) to as high as 446 degrees F (230 C) and can go straight from the freezer to the oven. Flexible with deep cavity and easy to use. I bought this to use for my son who currently has a dinosaur obsession. Not only do we use it for treats, but we also use it for making crayons out of his old broken ones by melting them and pouring them into this mold. He loves them and they fit nicely in his hand and they don't roll off of the table. We also use it for Jell-o and small muffins. Washes nicely in the dish washer. Great quality for the Amazon price too.

The individual dinosaurs are a bit small as stated in another review. I needed them to top cupcakes so it wasn't a problem for me but I can see how the picture is a bit deceiving. Each dino stands about 1 inch tall and ranges from 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 inches wide and 1/2 inch thick. I wish I knew this information before I ordered them but it will work for me. Other than the size, the quality of the mold is great. You will have to place it on a cookie sheet to keep the mold from flexing but that's not a big isuue because the flexiblity made it easier to take out the chocolate.

We made crayons for preschool Valentine day gifts and they turned out great! One question though - how do you clean them?? I ran it in the dishwasher and it got white "coating" on the mold and still has the crayon smell. I was hoping to use it to make chocolates as well - should I just resign myself to getting a separate mold for chocolates?
