A great book, with lots of details about how to create interesting and very different quilt blocks. It does give directions to create a couple of full quilts (not the one on the front cover), but mostly it describes how to make different types of spiral blocks and gives suggestions about how to set them into quilts. The CD containing Electric Quilt template projects (and pdf files containg printable templates for non-EQ users) is especially useful to help in the design process. The quilts illustrated in the book are truly inspirational and details of the creation of these quilts can be found at the "Spiromaniacs Blog" ([...]).

This is a truly impressive book. I was intrigued by the cover, but delighted to find how thoroughly the author had covered the subject. The detail is impressive, and every possible geometric combination of blocks is covered. In spite of the complexity of the designs, they are built up from comparatively simple basic pieced blocks. But the icing on the cake is the accompanying DVD, showing all the basic blocks, which can be printed off in any size required. One of the best books I have seen in quite a while.
