Product Description

With his silver-grey eyes and lethal charm, hotel mogul Wolf Renninger usually gets his way - except where Micki Durrant is concerned. Six years ago, he took her innocence and she took his heart; now Micki is coming home to the Delaware shore, and Wolf doesn't intend letting her go again.

1.0 out of 5 stars Simply Terrible, Feb 4 2004
By
This review is from: Simply Wonderful (Paperback)
I wish I would have read the previous review before picking this book up. It was awful. The dialogue was horrendous, the men were bullies and more interested in possessing their woman than any romance or love. I read the first novella but skimmed the second. I gave her the benefit of the doubt that in the 3 years since the first one (1981 and 1984) her writing would have evolved. Nope, it didn't. She originally wrote these under a pseudonym. I think she would have been better off never admitting to these.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Bother, Oct 31 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Simply Wonderful (Paperback)
I love a good chic book, but these are awful. I should have checked the copyright dates I guess, these are both recycled from the early '80s. And I guess I won't believe Nora Roberts' recommendations again, either. In short, these two novels are simply silly. The writing reads like something from an overwrought high school girl. If you have an IQ above 80 you will be bored silly.

4.0 out of 5 stars Emotionally riveting for an early 80s book, Sep 1 2009

Granted that both stories had the typical Big Misunderstanding, serious lack of communication, & arrogant hero/submissive heroine that's so prevalent of 80s romance novels, these 2 stories were overall surprisingly pretty good.

This is my 1st book by Joan Hohl & I like how her writing drew me to the characters & the outcome of their problems. I expected it to be a slow, eye-rolling read, knowing that the stories were written in the 80s. But I finished both stories in 1 night! It was emotionally riveting & I got hooked!
