Book Description

HER TOUCH IS DEADLY
As the only female Seminus demon ever born, master assassin Sinead Donnelly is used to being treated like an outcast. She spent decades enslaved, and now vows she'll die before she'll relinquish her freedom again. Then Sin's innate ability to kill her enemies goes awry: She creates a lethal new werewolf virus that sparks a firestorm of panic and violence.
HIS HUNGER CAN'T BE DENIED
Half-werewolf, half-vampire Conall Dearghul is charged with bringing in Sin to face punishment for the plague. And she's no stranger: He's bound to her by blood, and the one sexual encounter they shared has left him hungering for her raw sensuality. Worse, Sin is the underworld's most wanted and Con soon learns he's the only one who can help her . . . and that saving her life might mean sacrificing his own.

5.0 out of 5 stars 4.5 Stars for the Demonica series finale, Aug 24 2010
By Stephanie G "Paranormal Haven" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Sin Undone (Mass Market Paperback)
Master assassin Sinead is the only female Seminus demon to have ever existed and like her brothers, she was born with a special ability. She is able to kill her enemies with just a touch but something goes horribly wrong when she creates a disease that is rapidly killing werewolves. Sin will need to quickly learn to trust her brothers and the dangerously handsome half vampire half werewolf Conall to help keep her alive and find a cure before an entire race is annihilated.

Although Sin is an assassin, she is not heartless and has not gone unaffected by what she has done. She has been cooperating with the attempts to find a cure and as the master of her assassin den, she has turned down contracts to kill wargs (werewolves). This has caused her own men to turn on her and when Carceris (underworld jailers) come for Sin, she must team up with her former sexual partner and dhampire (half werewolf, have vampire) in order to stay alive. Sin has barricaded her self off from all feelings. Her mother treated her as if she was the devil's spawn and she had no idea what she was until her dermoire appeared when she was twenty and her sex drive went out of control. Her twin Lore was also going through the change and took off, leaving Sin all alone until she was found by a slave owner. She has a fear of getting close to anyone because everyone she cares for her leaves. Con sees how Sin has been hurt and is determined to make her feel and understand that her brothers are there for her. Con himself is a lot like Sin. He doesn't get close to anyone and has blocked off his emotions. Sin and Con are right for each other because they understand each other better than anyone has before and they are the only ones capable of healing the others wounds. Not to mention their sexual encounters sizzle right off the pages.

I knew that her brothers would accept her (of course Wraith made her earn it) and I really liked reading about their interactions. There were a few scenes that got a little to mushy for my tastes but I expected that. There is not one dull moment in this book. Aside from the plague that Sin caused (or Sin Fever) there is an all out civil war between the turned (Varcolac) and born (Pricolici) wargs brewing. Tension between the two species of wargs has always been thick and with Sin Fever spreading rapidly, there is a lot of behind the scene scheming and plotting on both sides. There is also the appearance of men on horses that will lead into Larissa Ione's new series, Lords of Deliverance.

Larissa Ione did not disappoint with the final chapter in her Demonica series. Sin Undone is a roller coaster of action, romance, suspense and you never want it to end. Prepare to lose some sleep with this one because you will not want to put the book down once you start it. This is one of those series I always recommend when asked for a book recommendation. It has everything a fan of Paranormal Romance would want and I'm sad to see it end. But Larissa has already reassured fans that we will see some of our favorite Demonica characters in her upcoming spin off series based on the four horsemen of the Apocalypse. First up will be War (Ares) titled Eternal Rider. Can't wait!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rich with Passion. LOVED it., Sep 29 2010
By Julia - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Sin Undone (Mass Market Paperback)
Sin Undone is wickedly dark, rich with passion and compelling from page one. If you have enjoyed the Demonica series thus far, you're going to dive right into this one and eat it up. Ione's world is darkly creative and impossible to put down. If you haven't started this series, I recommend you do! Sin Undone begins right where Ecstasy Unveiled concluded, with the team at Underworld General fighting off a lethal sickness that may expunge the world of all werewolves. And none other than Sin herself created the illness that her brothers are fighting so hard to eradicate...

Sin, our heroine, is unique. She is the only female Seminus demon... the result of a human/demon parentage. She, with her twin brother, was thrown into the demon world, always believing she was human. When she turned 20, her demonic gifts came to life and went awry... then discovering her dermoire can detect, create and replicate diseases. She has only recently learned of her half-brothers and what a true anomaly she really is and now has acquired the Master Assassin position- in charge of a throng of violent, killer assassins. As tough as she may seem, she has baggage coming out of her ears. Attachment issues. Abandonment issues. Rejection issues. And now that her long lost brothers have finally found her, will she ever be able to accept them as family- allow them to help protect and care for her... and help eradicate the disease she created?

I was on the fence about this book, not finding Sin likable in Ecstasy Unveiled, but her character has depth and evolves into a cunning, kick-ass heroine in Sin Undone. I loved her! Ione also revealed the vulnerable, love sick side of Sin, the perfect counterbalance to her dark, deadly side. And the most enthralling counterbalance to the brick wall that Sin has thrown up and hidden behind all this time?! Who is going to knock that wall down?! Con. A sexy dhampire. You're going to love Con.

Con is a warg/vampire cross and paramedic at Underworld General Hospital. We have been introduced to Con in previous books, but now his culture has been completely uncovered and it is fascinating. Con has his own baggage when Sin stumbles into his life making everything more complicated. It didn't matter how complex their lives became, this couple mirrored each other. Talk about a match made in heaven (or hell?) This is absolutely the best book in the series, and it is because this couple worked so well together.

This book was amazing and I loved it. I can't recommend Larissa Ione or the Demonica series enough to those who love Paranormal Romance. This is the best in the series- if you're a little hesitant, just try this one! Ione gives you enough back story that you won't be lost and it doesn't boggle the story down. I'm sad to say this is the last in the Demonica series, but she introduces Eternal Rider... preparing her readers for the next series, The Lords of Deliverance. I can NOT wait to read the new spin-off!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Larissa ends the series gracefully, Oct 31 2010
By Kristin "Maddywoo" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Sin Undone (Mass Market Paperback)
If story writing was like cooking, Larissa Ione would make The Food Channel itself her bitch with the Demonica series alone.

Another book that made me wish that life would just stop for three days so I could devote all all time to reading. But what matters is that it is done and the final verdict Larissa is the bomb. BOOM!

Ok, the book is dealing mostly with the werewolf civilization because our leading man is Dhampire (half-wolf, half-vampire). Now, ever since Stephanie Meyer's Breaking Dawn, I've rolled my eyes at "half and halfs"...except when it comes to my coffee *grins*. Authors tend to make those characters an unnecessary extra special that usually make me want to release the contents in my stomach, so to speak.

When it comes to Miss Ione, let's just say she deserves your trust at this point. If she were to present a half owl, half human with gargoyle blood to me, I would trust her to take that and make it into something fabulous. Because since the first two books, alone, she earned it and no, she did not disappoint. You can relate to these people, in some way.

I even fell in love with a warg in this book who barely spoke but with the little information I knew, I just got him.

One thing I've learned from this book is that wargs (werewolves) and Sem demons are practically made for each other. Sexed UP. You can really tell that this woman just truly sat down and thought "Ok, if there were really such and such, what would their civilization be like? What would they be like?" and she nails it like a hunky carpenter on a hot El Paso day.

After reading Gena Showalter's The Darkest Lie, I was upset because of the leading lady, Scarlet, was a quite tragic example of a ideal romance partner. But again I trusted Larissa to create another awesome female. And let me just say, I love Sin. She just very well be my favorite character out of all the romance books I've read so far. If she were real, she would go on my "Only chicks would go lesbo for" list. She's just that cool. She's sharp tongued, you can learn from her and damn it, she keeps it real. A lovable hard ass.

I'm sad that these books have to come to an end. I have truly fallen in love with these brothers, and now sister, as if they were real. At least we'll have another shot with the upcoming Lords of Deliverance book. WOOP!
