I always enjoy it when I watch it, July 19 2010
This review is from: Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas (Widescreen Dub Sub) (DVD)
This is a good adventure type movie, I think. I like it because it doesn't have a war theme. I know that other movies have (like Pirates of the Caribbean)war themes in them, but this one is to me more of an adventure theme. I like how they do the animation for especially when they are on the sea, and in general the whole movie. It seems that most movies these days ARE based on war and I don't like those very much and I know that these days no matter what you watch, there will be violence in it -- it just depends on "what kind" of violence is in it.

CAUGHT BETWEEN A PRINCESS AND A GODESS, Sep 28 2005
By A Customer
This review is from: Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas (Widescreen Dub Sub) (DVD)
For all the work , talent and expense that a feature like this takes to produce , I won't critisize the product .... If modern pop - animation is of interest , you can make up your own mind ... My comments are directed to the " Romantic Content " .... the commonly projected relationship between " Badboy , with buried nobility " -- and " Modern Miss Princess Tough and Independent " who can lead him to be what she believes , and wants him to be .... I realize that this theme reflects a phenononom that exists ... but it would seem that moving from one somewhat inaccurate portrayal of relationships { Cinderella , Sleeping Beauty , etc } to this equally unrealistic one is , at best weak .... Yes , it's only a movie . And we like exciting stories . But I would like to see the sequel where Princess is a single mother , and Sinbad has to sell his ship for child support payments ......

Marvelous effects can't salvage a waterlogged script!, July 14 2004
An exciting battle at sea with a monstrous "crab-octopus", an awesome excursion through siren-infested waters, and a rollicking (if overlong) encounter with a snow eagle are three of the major scenes involving the melding of traditional animation with CGI effects. These are marvelously executed and show the technicians' craft to the best of their abilities.
That said, the script isn't very thrilling, concerning a voyage to retrieve a valued book and restore Sinbad's credibility, as well as save his friend from execution.
Brad Pitt, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Michelle Pfieffer do as best to be expected with the lines that they must deliver. And poor Dennis Haysbert gets to voice the stereotypical "bulging muscled black" crewman.
When I saw that character, I could only think of how often he appears in film from Michael Clarke Duncan in "Armageddon" to the "doctor" in Disney's animated "Atlantis, the Lost Continent" to Isaac Singleton in last year's hit "Pirates of the Caribbean".
Maybe this is more than a younger audience can detect, but, to an experienced filmgoer like myself, it's getting rather old.
