We just bought this book for our 18 month old girl. She is just starting to increase her attention span and is able to sit for books with more words on a paage. This is a good book for her age because it is rhythmical and the pictures are colorful and amusing (plasticine pictures). While it doesn't have the flaps and things that children her age love (like Spot the Dog), I would recommend it for a child her age and for parents who are interested in teaching their children some of the more traditional children's nursery rhymes.

This is a great book - amazing illustrations made out of clay and all the favourite nursery rhymes that kids love. I have used this many, many times to read to kids and get them started on nursery rhymes and it is always a favourite book that the kids ask for.

I have found this to be a great gift for anyone aged 0-3 and it has always gotten positive feedback from the parents that I gifted it to.

HASH(0xa6c270d8) out of 5 stars Great book for kids and clay artists alike! Nov. 12 2002
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Library Binding
This book is great for kids as it is a nursury rhyme book and at the same time parents who want a fun book to read to their kids will enjoy it as well. This is also a great book for clay artists. Barbara Reid's technique is great for studing and applying on your own clay creations. She has another book specifically for clay design. It's called Playing with Plasterseen. Great projects for young kids and adults.
Check out her other books. They are all beautifully illustrated.
