Product Description

Product Description

Chicago's Rise Against might be seen as an outcast amongst its peers. Armed with The fury of classic punk acts such as Minor Threat & Bad Brains, they blend Intelligent vocals with a serious commitment to providing a positive alternative to the oft-dreary & disenchanted aura that engulfs most punk bands. "There are so many bands that sing about negative things, & we kind of wanted to show people it's OK to voice your opinions & stay positive. We just wanted to be more productive, lyrically." - JOE PRINCIPE.

5.0 out of 5 stars rise against strikes again Aug 26 2004

just an amazing cd. they've perfected their sound since 'Revolutions Per Minute' and expanded a little bit as well, with the acoustic 'Swing Life Away' and the cello part in 'Dancing for Rain'. this is an amazing album, and if you liked 'Revolutions Per Minute', you'll love this cd.

Simply put, this is a great album. I could spend hours comparing it to RA's two other great albums, but i dont think they wrote it to outdo or contrast their other releases. This one is everything i could have hoped for, there is alot of emotion in the songs and as always Tim's voice is the highlight of each song. If you like rise against's other albums i know you will like this one, and if you like music like Good Riddance, 88 fingers louie, you will like rise against. My fav songs are numbers 1,2,3,9 and 12, sorry i dont konw the names. Every song is good though...get it!

5.0 out of 5 stars A rare classic. Jan 1 2012

it's the only rise against cd i like. just rebuying it for the hard copy. If you like the radio music that Rise Against puts out now, you like won't like this and vice versa. It's a fast punk cd. Put on song #2(First Drop) and song after song is just classic after classic. It's basically fast song, melodic song, and repeat. Rarely do cds have 10 straight songs that not only fit the cd and keep the energy progressing, but that are classics by themselves. Up there(for me) with the likes of Op Ivy's Energy, Catch 22's Keasby nights by having no weak songs. Lots of music doesn't have the timeless quality, but this cd is just so amazing. it's emo and whiney but fast, poppy and punk rawk at the same time. Can't think of another cd that hits it so perfect.

I'm not a Rise Against fan, but this cd is a good as a cd can be.

5.0 out of 5 stars 1 of the Top 5 Punk CDS ever
This CD is unreal, as well the rest of their cds. These guys are the future of punk, they're by far the best band in years. I also really recommend Thrice, Cauterize and Choke.
