Four friends
One sisterhood
Ten years later, the story continues
On the cusp of turning thirty, Tibby, Lena, Carmen, and Bridget are now living separate lives, out on their own. Yet despite having jobs and men that they love, each knows that something is missing: the closeness that once sustained them. Carmen is a successful actress in New York, engaged to be married, but misses her friends. Lena finds solace in her art, teaching in Rhode Island, but still thinks of Kostos and the road she didn’t take. Bridget lives with her longtime boyfriend, Eric, in San Francisco, and though a part of her wants to settle down, a bigger part can’t seem to shed her old restlessness. Then Tibby reaches out to bridge the distance, sending the others plane tickets for a reunion that they all breathlessly await. And indeed, it will change their lives forever—but in ways that none of them could ever have expected.

Excellent book... Such a good idea to fast-forward !! I highly recommend it to anybody who read the first books. This one has the same tone, it's like finding 20$ in your pockets when you didn't know it was there !!

Unexpected Darkness,
By StacyG - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Sisterhood Everlasting (Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants): A Novel (Paperback)
I am a long time fan of the Sisterhood series. I read the first four when I was a teenager, and they held a lot of meaning to me. As the previous reviewer mentioned, the characters had been so relatable, and their struggles so honest. That's why I was thrilled to find Sisterhood Everlasting while on vacation. I had no idea it had come out, and it seemed like the perfect beach read. It's always interesting to catch up with favorite characters from a different perspective. While it was certainly intriguing to find the same four girls on the verge of thirty, the story didn't hold the same magic it did as a young adult series. For one, the entirety of the novel is pretty depressing. Each of the women seem helplessly lost, to the point where they are too paralyzed to make any decisions. The teenagers who had seemed so strong and hopeful during the YA series now seem significantly worse for wear. I also realize it's supposed to be a "feel good story," but I really didn't buy the number of connections from these girls' past that made it into this last installment. It seems a little unrealistic that even one of them would be involved with or hung up on a boy they knew when they were 16. I was also a little uncomfortable with the fact that ALL FOUR of them were living some kind of romanticized, free-spirit bohemian/artist/vagabond lifestyle while all of their respective boyfriends had normal jobs that essentially supported them. It's not all that bad, but not all that great either. If you need to kill some time on a plane or beach, and you're curious as to what Bridget, Tibby, Carmen, and Lena are up to, you'll breeze through it. But seriously, prepare to suspend your disbelief.

sad but worth it!,

This review is from: Sisterhood Everlasting (Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants): A Novel (Paperback)
At the time I bought this book,I was planning my wedding(I was a longtime Sisterhood fan),working full time and I still made a point to read AT least 2 to 3 chapters of Sisterhood Everlasting a night. I finished it in about a week because I would always read more. The book is sad and confusing at times but it is like the others where you feel like you are thinking what the girls are thinking and what they are going through is real to life. That's what I've always loved about these books is the girls were all so relatable even if you had a little bit of one character in you and a little bit of another. At 28,I still felt close to the characters. Even if you aren't a previous fan of the Sisterhood series,I'd still recommend this one.
