About the Author

OK Except for page 226,

I'm a Canadian who lived in Toronto for 20 years. David Stone AKA ??? decided to compare this large 3 million+ metropolis to the destitute Ukraine Crimea region on page 226, and found the Crimea would be better at dealing with a rogue helicopter than the "third world backwater city of Toronto", his words.
I had to read and reread that line, because it was so unbeliable... I went to Stone's website and sent an email about it, pointing out, several facts about Toronto he might not know. NO reply. My husband thinks he was joking, I don't know. It's not the first time Stone has some scathing remarks about Canada and Canadians. He has a hate on for our Romeo D'Allaire, who he accuses of grand standing, and lying about his role and actions during the genocide in Rwanda, while representing the UN forces during the 1990s. You will remember, the USA sat watching, arguing it WAS NOT a genocide (so, they did not have to do anything... while thousands of people were murdered on the streets). It disturbs me that an American author, who chooses to remain anonymous, who is becoming a bestseller, is so right wing, that he will condemn a whole country because they are not. I guess he would rather have Japan or Germany as a neighbor. It's easy to publish cheap pot shots, when you don't even have the guts to reveal who you are. The story was good, I liked the returning characters and the many geographical locations the plot involves. 3*** because of that, because I am a fair left wing Canadian jerk. As far as his next books, maybe 2nd hand paperbacks, or not.

Traveling to Vienna to meet with a former Mossad
agent, Micah Dalton finds himself targeted by a complex plot designed to shatter America's strategic alliances, a conspiracy that pits him against a secret U.S. agency and a cadre of trained KGB assassins. This is the fourth in a series featuring Micah Dalton, a CIA officer, also known as a cleaner and fixer in the clandestine world. This author and his protagonist has really grown on me. I love all his thrillers, and to me they are all comparable to Ludlum when he was in his hey days. CIA "cleaner" Micah Dalton is in Vienna meeting with former-Mossad field operative Issadore Galan when he feels something is not right. Used to cleaning up the mess of failed operations, he fears he will need a cleaner too, as he quickly realizes that he is under surveillance by unknown assumed to be hostile enemies. Not one to sit back and wait, Micah catches one of them, Veronika Miklas.
After sex, he flees with her accompanying him following a failed assault on him. Someone wants Micah dead, but he is unsure why; especially since his CIA contacts and handlers are part of the death squad pursuers. He turns to his alcoholic psychopathic friend Ray Fyke to insure he has his back covered. As the trio travels to the Balkans, the former KGB assassins, an American top secret agency, other espionage groups, and Smoke the Serbian killer follow with death to the threesome as their mantra. The latest Cleaner espionage thriller (see The Venetian Judgment, The Echelon Vendetta and The Orpheus Deception) is a great conspiratorial story line filed with action, action and more action. The cast is especially powerful including the enigmatic killing machine Smoke while the locales enhance the exciting plot. As usual Mr. Stone has written another truly action packed novel. I put the character Micah Dalton in the same class with Sean Dillon and Mitch Rapp.
