Product Description

Stan's past calendars have won the Calendar Marketing Association''s Silver Award for Most Original Calendar .

NOW IN ITS 15TH YEAR!

Black holes, stars, planets, meteor showers, comets and galaxies are just part of what the night skies have to offer. Stan Shadick explains all things celestial in this award-winning calendar that features star maps horizon scenes for orienting novice stargazers to the heavens; inset maps illustrating planetary conjunctions and other events; and daily commentaries that describe constellation mythology, cosmic events and celestial discoveries. Find out what to watch for in the skies every night of the year. On a dark night, most of the stars described in this calendar can be viewed with the unaided eye or with binoculars. Skywatchers 2011 is the perfect way to explore the mysteries of the heavens.

About the Author

Stan Shadick teaches introductory and advanced astronomy courses at the University of Saskatchewan and supervises the university observatory. He is an active advocate for recreational stargazing and writes an astronomy column for various newspapers.

A daily calendar to inform us on what is happening daily! Leaves room to plan. I brought two, one for home, one for work, in case I want to view something quickly with my binoculars!

5.0 out of 5 stars Stanley Shadick is at it again!, April 8 2011

I remember when Stan Showed me the prototype in 62 - 62 BC of course! This is even better than the Tisdale yearly calender, which was also designed by Stanley Shadick. A man who has a photograph in front of the moon, is a man to be trusted with astronomy. Can't wait for the next project! More Stan Shadick work! More Stan Shadick work!
