You're likely to find alot of people raving about the wonder that is this book. For the most part, I'd say that it's a pretty good read. It doesn't quite live up to the hype, but it's certainly alot of fun. The things that drag it down are also the things that make it fun. It's a little one-dimensional, and geared to all the fanboys who love slasher movies, and that's fine. It's cheap and dirty fun. So enjoy it for what it is.
Still beyond that minor criticism, I think the next big thing weighing it down, is the rather inconsistent, (and occasionally downright crappy) artwork. I'm not talking about each story having it's own art style. I'm talking about how some stories, have what seems to be a completely different artist every couple pages, and it can be really jarring. It's bad enough to drag the book down an extra star.
Still, I recommend it for all you horror fans out there. It's a little quirky (though not very), it's violent (and how!), and for the most part reads like episodes of
Supernatural. So all in all, this book may not get my highest recommendation, but I can say that Amazon's $20.00 price tag is at least fair. So at bare minimum, think about it. You could do a whole lot worse.
