He has received research awards from the Sleep Research Society and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Michael J. Sateia,
M.D., Editor, is a past president of the American Insomnia Association, and currently director of four Sleep Disorder Centers affiliated with the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical School in New Hampshire. As a professor of psychiatry he specialized in sleep disorders, parainsomnia, and insomnia.

Wilfred R. Pigeon, Ph.D., is Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester Medical Center, where he is the Director of the Sleep and Neurophysiology Research Laboratory. He has chaired the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) Behavioral Sleep Medicine Committee since 2005.
