Product Description

Book Description

Take the pressure and "failure" out of insomnia as you learn how to break old patterns and develop a wonderful new relationship with sleep.

Guided mindfulness meditation skills blended with celestial music that show you the way to the "land of nod." Provides not only immediate results, but also internalizes skills to draw on forever.

A great audio to have on hand for occasional or chronic sleep problems -- NO PILLS NEEDED! Endorsed by hospitals, airlines and psychologists.

One of six audios in the Inner Mastery Series. The purpose of the Inner Mastery Series is that you not only experience results after each listen, but that you also develop increasingly deeper skills to serve you in all of life's challenges.

Commonly considered negatives such as pain, stress and insomnia are transformed in a non-judgmental way that invites insight and is both growth-promoting and freeing. Once perceived enemies turn into welcome teachers.

Similarly, everyday events such as watching a bird soar, greeting a neighbor or putting on your socks are experienced in a more mindful, complete way; a way that enriches your relationship to self, spirit and thus, the rest of the world.

From AudioFile

This and apparently all of the six audio programs in the author's Inner Mastery Series use mindfulness of the present moment (vipassana) as the basic therapeutic tool--in this example to promote the type of intense relaxation that helps people fall asleep. The two short meditations on the audio involve breathing exercises and vivid instructions to focus on releasing tension from specific parts of the body. It's a visceral, nonintellectual approach to insomnia, so it might not help if it's a difficult marriage or job stress that's keeping you awake. The author's voice is exceptionally well-suited for this kind of audio--smooth, gentle, and curiously well-connected to her listeners. I am a long time sufferer of Insomnia. I am a compassionate and extremely honest person. [I am an ordained Reverend] I do infact own a very good anti-insomnia cd by Glenn Harrold - wanted another good one so I could switch every now and then - I have found that I get too used to one over and over and begin to not focus as well.

I was extremely excited about ordering this CD - because I literally read all of the 5 star reviews on it -- what a mistake -- I should have equalled that out with reading some of the negative ones. Life... what a learning process.

I find this CD irritating - the music if it can be called music - sharp high-pitched bells and noises - like chalk on a blackboard some of it. Her alleged "guidance" which to me is minimal at best... and almost non-existent - just a few short words here and there and then constant repetition of the word good good good good ad infinitum. She puts you Racing on a cloud - listening to high pitched bells - listening to good goood goood good over and over intermittently... is not relaxing to me and will NOT get me to sleep.

I tried it twice and ended up getting up and putting my Glenn Harrold back on.

I do not believe with all the years of experience in this that I have... that all of the 5 star reviews I read are for real... I think some of them were put there to help sell this item! That is allowing for different strokes for different folks... this was BAD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific for insomnia relief!!!, Nov 13 2006

As a life long insomniac I have tried dozens of methods to sleep better. This is the only one that really works. Her voice and music are very calming and the imagery is perfect. I'm usually drifting off by the time the segments end. I use it almost every night.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get That Sleep You Want, Aug 3 2009
By Glenn Vinzant - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Sleep Through Insomnia: Meditations to Quiet the Mind & Still the Body (Audio CD)
I'd heard about this CD from a friend of mine who said it was THE solution for his endless sleepless nights.....so since I'd tried everything else already, including the usual suspects like sleeping pills, I got the CD too - and he's absolutely right! KRS just sorta takes you by the hand and walks you right into Sleep Town. It's pretty amazing that the mind can be "tamed" like that. I think of all the needless nights I tossed and turned and all the (following) days I "lost" from being so foggy ....but no more. Now I can get the sleep I need and have energy the next day.
