Possibly the worst season...,

Sliders was a great series, it was a smart sci-fi show about parallel worlds that was brainy, yet entertaining. Until the third season came around. Network interference turned what was a cool show into a hackneyed Hollywood-block-buster-rip-off farce of epic proportions.The first part of the season is entertaining, but things get bad about halfway through. As I said, the series was hijacked by the network who wanted to boost raitings by adding sex appeal (Firing John Ryse-Davies and hiring Keri Wuher) and making every episode essentially a rip-off of a popular movie that was released in theaters that year (check it out, there are rip offs of Species, Jurassic Park, Anaconda, and the Island of Dr. Moreau among others) But, even though some episodes are just embarrassingly bad (Dragonslide for example) it's still watchable, but if you're looking for the same sort of stuff that was in the series first and second seasons you're going to be sorely disappointed. I'd strongly recommend this box set (which Universal Pictures went very cheap on it with the lack of booklets, episode/chapter breakdowns, double sided discs and minimal special features.. in spite 30+ Dollar price tag) for a completest or somebody who isn't too concerned about where the plot was going and just wants to be entertained. If you're looking for the series to get back to it's roots, check out Season 4, which at the time of this writing will be released March 25, 2008. That season was aired on a new network with the old writers. They still have an actual on-going plot (With the Kromags) but they also get back to "basics" with the exploration of parallel worlds and so on.

The CD's arrived in good shape but some of the episodes won't play.I'm not happy, other then that I've always enjoyed Sliders.

I really enjoyed sliders season3, all the episodes are great. The quality is very good. Only real negative is the small amount of extras. Other than that, its a great set to have for any sliders fan.
