5.0 out of 5 stars Mysteries revealed!, Feb 14 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Small Engine Technology (SC) (Paperback)
I recommend this book to anyone who ever wondered about the mysteries of an internal combustion engine. It is written for students and it covers the technical as well as practical aspects of small engines. It takes you through a blow-by-blow engine tear down and rebuild but is still an easy read. All aspects are covered from valve clearances (I know what that is now!) to rope pulls. Although this book was written for the person who plans on becoming a professional, I (a complete novice) was able to rebuild one engine and two carburetors for myself, and troubleshoot several other engines for friends who think I'm magic now.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pony express would have been faster!, Sep 26 2009

I would not use this company again. They used the slowest carrier to send the textbook and it arrived 2 weeks later. OSM kept the package in LA for a week and it probably would have taken longer had I not called them. If you read the reviews, this is not the first time this has been reported. Putting the agrevation aside, the book itself is one of a few available on the subject of small engines. It goes into detail starting with tools needed for repair, safety issues, and covers the many types of engines. Many times it does not get to the nitty gritty of rebuilding an engine. Thankfully, I am taking a course that includes a video that gives that info.

Book was received well-packaged; delivery time took longer that I anticipated. - ordered a week before school started and received a week after. Little slow.
