I really wanted to love this keyboard. I can no longer use my right hand so I type with just my left hand. The size of this keyboard is perfect for that and the touch pad means I don't have to move my hand away from the keyboard to use a mouse. The problem is that often my cursor jumps around(backwards, up lines, etc.) to areas that I have already typed data in and before I realize it I am typing my cuurent stuff in the middle of my last line, paragraph, word, etc. I think it is because the touch pad is so sensitive. I would like to turn off the click but touching the keypad but even an email to the manufacturer has not given me a way to do this. I think if I could click by using the buttons only the problem might clear up. It would be nice to at least try that. It may just be that it's just too sensitive and no matter how much I want to love it, I'll probably end up throwing it across the room one day.

I bought this keyboard because I wanted a corded external keyboard with an embedded touchpad. I also needed the touchpad to be in a location that was useful for left-handed/ambidextrous use. When I started looking, I was really surprised by how few keyboards met those criteria-- unfortunately most keyboards with embedded touchpads seem to be designed only for right-handed use. I was really happy to find this Gear Head keyboard, and intended to use it for work that involves a lot of typing.
After 4 days of use, I think that this could be a good keyboard if you aren't going to use it for a lot of writing or if you aren't a touch typist who uses non-alphanumeric keys frequently. The problems I've encountered with the keyboard are:
* Backspace key is small and in a position where I consistently hit the keys to the left of it instead of backspace
* On the right side, the delete and Ins keys are to the right of the spacebar
* Also on the right side, there is no Ctrl key to the right of the spacebar. This compounds the Delete/Ins problem, because I tend to hit them when my fingers meant to go for right-side Ctrl
* On the left side, the Fn and Ctrl keys are reversed from the more standard layout. When I go to use the left-side Ctrl, I inevitably hit Fn and vice versa
* The touchpad doesn't seem to be quite as smooth as other touchpads I've used. It's slightly difficult to position the cursor quickly and exactly where I want it to be.
* Something about the keyboard is producing a strain in my left hand and wrist. No idea why the right side isn't affected, but it's a problem
Bottom line is that while I can see some benefits of this keyboard for some, I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who uses a lot of keyboard commands or does a lot of writing.

I had wireless keybourds but gave up on them do to battery issues , weak signals, unstable onbourd mouse action. I Bought this unit , it works but curser is sometime sensitive and also jumps around now and then . But Its a lot better than the wireless. I use it to control my PC connected to HD tv
