Product Description

The Smurfs are a group of over 100 bluish, three-apple tall creatures who live in the mushroom homes of Smurf Village. They are led by 543-year-old Papa Smurf (who doesn't look a day over 530). Their lives would be perfect were it not for the villainous Gargamel, a wizard who spends his days trying to capture them to eat, turn into gold, or for other evil reason. Gargamel's cat Azrael adds to the menace, always looking for a smurfalicious snack.. Its Season Two, Vol. 1 of Smurf Adventures, the Emmy-winning animated series [Outstanding Childrens Entertainment Series 1982-83] that delighted Saturday morning cartoon fans for nearly a decade.

5.0 out of 5 stars I "smurf" the Smurfs! Sep 28 2010
By Frances L. Arsenault TOP 500 REVIEWER
Let's just say I "smurf" the Smurfs! Thought I was shocked by the negativity I heard on Keyframe.com, I thought the series is really good. My favorite smurf characters are Clumsy Smurf, he's funny; Smurfette (who doesn't love Smurfette) and Handy Smurf because...well because I love Handy and Marina the mermaid, they're my favorite TV couple.

And after watching the TV show, I even read the original comics from Peyo, and now the Smurfs is my favorite European comic along with Rene Goscinny's Asterix the Gaul from France. Overall I really love the Smurfs; that is all I could say about this cartoon series, folks.

1.0 out of 5 stars We Want Season Sets Nov 3 2009

Smurfs cartoons remain a favorite for those people that grew up watching them as kids. We got the full treatment with Season One Vol 1 and 2 but now it seems like miscellaneous episodes in no particular orders are being put out a few at a time. Which WB associate made that irrational decision is an outrage. So the 1 star vote is for the DVD. We want season sets!

2.0 out of 5 stars Okay Dec 10 2009
By K. Bass - Published on Amazon.com
As I have said in a previous Smurf DVD review, at least they included episodes with Gargamel. I am still disappointed with the limited episodes-5, and the fact that these releases are not in chronological order. What happened to the episode where Baby Smurf arrived via stork? I wish Warner Bros would stop playing and release another Volume of numerous episodes in the order that they originally aired.

1.0 out of 5 stars $15 for 5 episodes???? Jan 6 2011
By BklynBoy - Published on Amazon.com
I agree with everyone else that believes these sets are overpriced. $15 for 5 episodes is just crazy. Don't any of the corporate folks read any of these reviews. If they don't, they should, because the might actually learn something they can't read in an academic journal.
