5.0 out of 5 stars Spoon!, Jun 24 2004
By Esther Lin "allelbows" (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I can't laud this album enough! I have the red vinyl and it won me over instantly. I bought the CD just for the out of print bonus tracks from "Agony of Lafitte" -- my favorite tracks are Advance Cassette, Car Radio, and oh shoot, I like them all.
Britt Daniel's voice is urgent and beautiful.

This is the best Spoon album in my opinion. If you really enjoy pavement, i think you'll like this one too. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 because there's not 4.5, Sep 18 2003
By "maximumcash2" (el paso, texas United States) - See all my reviews
Forget the previous reviewer. Pixies, Pavement, No Pixies or No Pavement, who cares really? I'm sick of the comparisons. I live in Austin. I see the Britt Danial all the time, no mames. He's not the coolest guy in the world, heck he's a stuck up wannabe. Who cares? This album rocks. Car Radio is a classic.

4.0 out of 5 stars The sweet sound of the spoonmen
I have to say, as a fan of Spoon this review will inevitably be rather biased, but I'll do my best to critique it. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great album
Spoon are on the rise. It's that simple. After being caught in the great purging at Elektra that saw bands like Luna, Superdrag, the Afghan Whigs as well as Spoon get dumped, this... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Proxy Rock
Spoon (or rather Britt) has the unusual style of stripping the clutter and gloss from pop-rock, leaving spare but catchy gems where occasional handclaps and single guitar chords... Read more
