Product Description

Responding to the need for an easy-to-use machine that could tackle heavier snowfall on large driveways and walkways, Snow Joe developed the Snow Joe Ultra SJ620, a larger electric snow thrower that delivers the power of a gas machine with the convenience of an electric unit. Driven by a 13.5 amp motor, the Snow Joe Ultra moves up to 650 pounds of snow per minute. Its durable, 4 blade rotor, constructed of heavy grade steel, cuts a full 18-inch wide and 10-inch deep with each pass, clearing 2150 square feet per hour. In addition to its hard-working plowing capacity, the Snow Joe Ultra features an adjustable discharge chute that rotates a complete 180 degrees to provide full control over the snow discharge direction. The chute deflector can also be adjusted to control the height of the snow stream. Easy-glide pivot wheels make the Snow Joe Ultra easy to turn and maneuver on each pass. The scraper blade at the base of the unit efficiently scrapes the snow clear to the pavement. The Snow Joe Ultra SJ620, is powered electrically, making it effortless to start and maintain. No gas, oil, or tune-ups are necessary. The unit is ETL-approved and carries a full two year warranty. For heavier snowfall on large driveways and walkways, the Snow Joe Ultra SJ620 is your smart solution this winter.

Extremely easy to assemble - takes about two minutes. Really, all you are doing is putting the handle in place and tightening it down by hand.

This snow thrower worked great in a few inches of snow; but once the snow was deeper than about 8 inches it struggled. The box says it works with a limit of 10 inches of snow. That's probably being a little optimistic. Stick to six inches and you'll be happy.

Within a week of buying the machine (on sale for $148) we were hit with 25 cm of heavy wet snow. The machine handled it with no problems - I used it three times since then on smaller (10 cm) snow falls and it was a breeze. Dragging the heavy duty extn cord around is a bit of a drag but once you get used to it and devise a system to avoid backtracking, it is not really a problem. The one problem I had was that the blue plastic handle you hold to keep the machine running is made of cheap plastic and it broke on the second use. I tried to repair it but it failed. You can buy a whole new starter mechanism for $20, or I could have returned the machine, but since it is only a minor inconvenience for me to operate the machine with the broken handle, I kept it. The machine itself works like a charm so far.

First this snow trower have power and i mean a lot, i'm in montreal and this winter we got it hall snow rain ice rain , and that machine did the job even beter then expected, but there's more i hit an ice block ( not good ) that was hidden in the snow so it kind of brooke the snow trower, so i call Snow Joe, what a 5 star service they will replace it free of charge, and the funny thing the lady that thalk to me was sorry about the delay 2 week ( there sold out ).
Usualy when a cie tell you about delay it's around a month or two, so 2 week is nothing, so whit all that they just got a lifetime customer why looking elsewhere when you got this kind of service.

Thank Snow Joe

Just bought this snow blower and used it for Montreal's 60cm of snow. It worked great. For drifts greater than 18 inches i just pushed my way in and then knocked down the overhang. Was also able to clear up the pile of snow from the road plows with ease. I am very impressed

I live in Alberta and this little guy has been working great so far. It throws the snow quite far. With some heavier snowfalls you may need to go over the snow twice to clear it down to the driveway, but it's handled both wet and dry snowfalls so far. Overall I'm pleased with this purchase and don't see the need for a larger gas powered version.

Got this from costco, and will be getting another from amazon. but note the following edits I would make from the
product description above.

The Snow Joe electric snow thrower is incredibly easy to use and maintain.
"You will need to maintain the cheap plastic parts"

13.5 amp motor moves up to 650 pounds of snow per minute
"Closer to 400 should be what you expect"

Cuts up to 18-inch wide and 10-inch deep in one pass
18 sure, but anything over 8 inches deep and it struggled.

180-degree adjustable chute
adjustable, but not easily, and its awkward

5 steel blade rotor throws snow up to 20 feet
Maybe mine sucks, but 20 feet is a flat out lie. but it threw it plenty far that it wasnt an issue.

I've never had or used any type of snow thrower before. I don't like gas powered things because of the maintenance and spillage involved. I saw this on Amazon.ca for I think it was $180.00 or so on a "Black Monday" special. The first thing that surprised me when I took it out of the box is that it's all together and all you have to do is tighten the bolts - no tools needed. I used it for the first time this last weekend with 3 foot drifts in my driveway. It worked GREAT. Unfortunately, I need more of a 125 extension cord because of the length of my driveway and the location of my outlet and still had to shovel a bit of the end of the driveway but it's WAY better than having to spend hours shovelling the whole thing. Very happy with my purchase!

This is a light duty snowblower. It is designed to move small amounts of fresh mostly dry snow.

Having said that I have used it to blow drifts up to a foot and a half high off my deck and besides being much easier than shoveling the same snow it is at least twice if not 3 times faster. It has even removed several inches (around 4) of fairly wet snow and ice crystals.

No it will not remove the stuff the plow leaves at the end of the driveway but that would not be fair to the machine since it was never designed for that. I live in Moncton, NB and believe me we get all kinds of snow and plenty of it. This little machine really impressed me for doing walkways and patios. It was never designed to do the end of driveways so I give it 5 stars. It does what it was built to do and it does it very well.
