I love this pillow, it's the most comfortable one I have ever tried! It supports my neck and head. No headaches since I have used it! The only thing is I would like it to be a bit bigger.

I bought this as a gift for my husband, he claims to love the pillow (although it has been taken over by our daughter lol). i used it once just to see if its all that it claimed to be on TV. Its just a bean bag.. I was quite disappointed. It only holds up with the pillow case provided by the maker, otherwise it goes completely flat.
I would NOT buy again, sorry.

It's A Sobakawa Without The Retail Box July 19 2012

If you have a tricky neck and need your head to stay positioned just so, and stay cooler through the night, this is the pillow to use. At most, it may take a couple of days to get used to. It is heavier than an ordinary Western style pillow and noisier (the husks are crispy). But once you pass out, you won't care.

This arrived in a plastic bag, with a loose paper label and warranty. I'm sure there's some sort of cost-saving/business reason this product does not arrive in the box shown, but it is the pillow I expected and it is working as described. I've owned one before, so I knew what to expect. It is half the size of the average pillow, so I insert it sideways into a standard pillow case; the loose half doesn't bother me.

As I say to all the vendors here at Amazon: your product page would greatly assist potential customers, and make them like you sooner, if you would:

(a) provide scale in the product photo (such as next to a soda can),
(b) post a demo vid or a link to youtube/liveleak/vimeo,
(c) explain what the packaging will be and show that, in addition to the original packaging photo that most people will recognize,
(d) make sure the Product Details and Specifications match up; and
(e) provide a link to a PDF of the manual, if any.

I recommend this product and this vendor for this item.

Too small, doesn't last long Jan. 12 2011

This was a huge waste of money. The first thing buyers should be aware of is that the pillow shown in the ad is NOT the one you will receive. It is about the size of a travel pillow. It swims inside a standard-size pillow case because it is so small. Secondly, I purchased this within the last month and it is already stretched out enough that it is unusable. Bottom line: Too small and doesn't hold up under normal nightly sleeping. Sobakawa pillow=fail

Where'd it all go? March 8 2012
By savinggrace - Published on Amazon.com
I bought this pillow because of the name made me think of softness. I always am on the hunt for a good pillow. I have tried all types of pillows which all end up in the guest room. This pillow will not even make it there because of the following:

1. After a while it smells. You cannot wash it. You can wash the polyester "pillow case" that comes with it. It that has an annoying zipper. Drool, sweat and hair oil make it the stinkiest pillow ever. I tried fabric freshener once and it smelled worse. I have a cotton pillow case on top of the polyester case too. It is way to large because the pillow is much smaller than a standard case.

2. Every time you breathe, the beads inside move and you hear them rustling around.

3. My pillow is 1/3 the size it once was. I have no idea where it all went. It is now toddler size.

When my new king size MyPillow.com pillow shows up, I am going to make bean bags out of what is left of this stinker. I made a video to show what it's like.

Rock pillow is more like it June 22 2011
By Kate Talbot - Published on Amazon.com
This was a huge waste of money. Usually I am more careful about things and research them online first, but I thought who could go wrong with a cloud pillow? First of all they put it in this huge box, but it is tiny. It was less than half the size of my regular pillow. I decided to give it a try anyway. Well, once your head settles into the pillow, it literally feels like you are resting your head on a rock. SO uncomfortable! I couldn't stand to use it for 5 minutes. And I tried, I really tried to get used to it. It was so awful, I had to get my old pillow back. Too bad I had already thrown the packaging out so now I can't return it. I guess it is going to go in my daughter's toy box.

Incredible Comfort June 25 2010
By Aurora Black - Published on Amazon.com

I'm writing this the morning after receiving my Sobakawa Cloud Pillow from Amazon. One night was all I needed for this review.

Like everyone, I think of my bedroom as a sanctuary from the world's stress and that's why I want it to be as comfortable and soothing as possible. I've suffered from head/neck/back pain for years from sleeping on pillows that lost their shape way too soon and went flat on me. Before last night, I slept on a combination of a regular pillow, a body pillow (which was wrapped around the reg. pillow), and a huge European-style square pillow to top everything off.

In a nutshell, neither that elaborate setup or the many pillows that came before it gave me even one fraction of the PEACE that the Sobakawa gave me in one night of testing. It cradles my head and neck perfectly, and it keeps my spine aligned when I shift during the night. The micro-beads move when you move in order to provide proper cushioning at all times. At the risk of sounding too "New Age," the Sobakawa Cloud Pillow gave a level of comfort that was almost like being back in the womb. My first night's sleep with this pillow was truly the best I've had in years, and when I had to wake up in the middle of the night to *cough cough*, all I could think of was how much I wanted to go back to bed! :O)

I've noticed a lot of complaints elsewhere on Amazon about this pillow's size, firmness, and the noise of the micro-beads. Yes, the pillow is slightly smaller than the standard bed pillow, but in my opinion it more than pulls its weight on the job. I admit that I was surprised and disappointed about the size when I first opened the box (because I was used to big luxury pillows), but I changed my mind very quickly once I used the Sobakawa. Appearances can be deceiving. What looks like a "dinky travel pillow" to some, turns out to be a great sleep investment for others (namely me). Another complaint is that the pillow is too hard/too noisy. I did not experience these problems. The micro-beads crinkle a little when you move, but not enough to seriously disturb the person or wake him/her up. As for the hardness, if you love ultra-soft down pillows and others of that type, then the Sobakawa Cloud Pillow would probably be too experimental for you to try. The way others have described this pillow, you'd think the reviews were written by "The Princess & The Pea." The Sobakawa is NOT a glorified brick, and its micro-beads didn't stab me to death in my sleep. Instead, they gave me the support I needed after years of pain that came from using those royal, ultra-soft pillows. To each his/her own.

One last thing about this product that struck me as funny: The tag that comes with the pillow & case set has a bunch of underlined warnings on it, saying that the pillowcase must ONLY be used with the SOBAKAWA PILLOW! Only the PILLOWCASE can be washed! One must NEVER get the Sobakawa pillow WET! The only things missing on this way too serious tag were the words, "Or else!" I suspect that wetting the pillow would ruin the micro-beads, but would it kill them to actually explain that instead of screaming "Don't do it"? Or does the pillow turn into a gremlin when wet? I call dibs on Gizmo! LOL
