This small book about solar arcs is interesting, especially if you are a beginning or intermediant astrologer. It will not appeal to experienced astrologers who will be better off with the book of Noel Tyl. In fact this book is rather an introduction to solar arc directions, a step-by-step guide on what solar arcs are and how to interpret them. If you look for a good book about solar arcs, just stick to Noel Tyl's book.

Solar Arc Directions
A Book Review
by Ann Tynes
Solar Arc Directions is a must-read for budding and expert astrologers alike. It stands out above others as a way of explaining life as a growth pattern based on karma and the choices we make to overcome it. From its beautiful cover, painted by her son, Kenneth, to the last page, Carole Devine's newest book grabs you and doesn't let go.
While it was written primarily for students with a fair amount of expertise, it has much to offer the beginner. Her case studies are fascinating even for those who have had little or no training in the intricacies of astrology. And her original discovery, that events in our lives repeat in reverse order after the age of 45, really gives the reader something to ponder.
Solar Arc Directions is easily understood. Ms. Devine writes the way a teacher should write - with clarity, enthusiasm and love for her students and her subject.

This book is what I call a "SuperBook". Carole has given us a vast amount of practical information power-packed into a small volume. All of it was great! I found her writing to be that of an experienced teacher...clear, concise and immediately usable. She takes through an easy-to-understand definition of Solar Arc Theory and it's uses in chart forecasting. She also offers much information concerning how to incorporate this method into our own chart work.
Personally,I was happily surprised by the chapter on "Counseling". She adds insights found through her study of the momentous psychological-spiritual work, "A Course In Miracles" and adds them to our tool box of counseling skills in a thoughtful and compassionate manner. I also use this method of looking for "alternative perspectives" in my astrological consulting sessions with clients with much success. I strongly recommend "Solar Arc Directions" to all students of Astrology!
