Lois K. Geller is founder and president of Mason & Geller Direct, a full-service direct response agency and has extensive executive experience at other agencies as well. Lois is the author of Response! The Complete Guide to Profitable Direct Marketing, Direct Marketing Techniques, and Customers For Keeps. She is a frequent radio and television panelist. Her 'Direct Marketing Diva' column is featured in Fortune On-Line. She is an adjunct professor at New York University. She has won the Silver Apple Award for Lifetime Achievement in Direct Marketing, has received the Echo Award in direct marketing and many RSVP Awards in Canada. Lois Geller lives in Hollywood, Florida.

I recently received this book to review it for my magazine, lore. I get a lot of real estate books, and I read them all, but this one really beats most. The information is logical, solid, actionable, and the book is highly readable. I was recently at a luxury real estate gathering and heard a terrific coach, Jennifer Cummings talk about precisely the same things that are in this book. I highly recommend it, and in fact am ordering a number of copies to send to other people. Don't miss it!

Major advertisers have paid millions for Lois's advice on direct marketing. Hundreds of small businesses have also used her strategies because she shows them how to use their size as a strength. I've seen it myself. The difference between success and failure is developing a personal relationship and Lois knows how you can "out friendly" your competitors. You don't need a huge budget to stand out.

As the real estate market slows down, agents who can cost effectively generate referrals and build new relationships will thrive. Blanketing your neighborhood with generic, non personal appeals won't make the phone ring and is too costly these days.

SOLD is a must read for the professional real estate agent, and also for both the new and experienced sellers. Lois writes like a friend to the reader when she spells out exactly what should be expected from an agent. It is a wonderful guide ...even supplying pages for the readers' questions and comments along with names, addresses and web sites of RE people for any further info. Very good illustrations, too.

I was very disappointed with this book! If you are new to real estate and know nothing about marketing you may find it helpful. For experienced realtors - forget it! The information was very basic and much of it not related to real estate. I was hoping to learn about lots of specific direct marketing techiques and products that were proven to generate an abundance of good, cost effective buyer and seller leads, unfortunately this book does not do that.
