Product Description

Product Description

As McLeod clan leader, Graham has always placed duty to his heritage and people before everything else. Even when it means honouring a ridiculously outdated pact to become betrothed to a McAuley descendant. His business arrangement with American Katie McAuley suits them both - she spends a month at his Scottish castle, where she can take refuge from her overbearing family and figure out her future - if he could just keep Katie's courage and honesty at arm's length, not to mention their all-too-sizzling attraction.

1.0 out of 5 stars Most boring book ever!!, May 19 2011
By M. L. Willis "mlwillis" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Some Like It Scot (Paperback)
I am not sure if I have ever read one of this author's books before, but I probably won't read another one. Every scene was written three different ways, every thought was descriptively agonized over. I didn't even care enough to skip to the end of the book. Whoever did the editing for this book really dropped the ball.

4.0 out of 5 stars nice, July 3 2010
By Kim C - Published on Amazon.com
I liked this one, but it was just too short. It starts out so well, really drew me in, but it doesn't quite finish with the bang for which I was hoping. I just wish it would have been a bit longer. It has such great potential for further development. A good fun read all in all, but not as good as some of Donna's other books. I recommend "Here Comes Trouble" as well as "Let Me In."

4.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining but fell a little short, Jun 26 2010
By Long Time DF Fan - Published on Amazon.com

I hope there is a sequel to this book since it left me with unanswered questions. I like a little whimsy in a story and the ending left me wanting more. What makes an enjoyable story (in my opinion) is that I have to like the characters and that I did. That is why I am hoping for more. The long trip back to Scotland got just that...a bit long and often the dialog was a bit redundant. Would like to have spent more time getting to know the villagers and finding out what became of Katie's truely snotty familiy and did Blaine ever develop a backbone? What aboug Tag? Roan was fun and we need to know more about him so I hope that is in the works.

Sometimes, one thing sticks out that made this story a bit hard for me to grasp. There is no woman anywhere that would travel to another continent that would NOT grab her purse and cell phone. Doesn't matter how much chaos is going on at the moment...we grab our main stuff and that would be a purse! I am not an author but I just had trouble with that one yet she had her passport in another bag.

This is the first book I have read of Donna Kauffman's and I'll read more of her books. For the most part, I did enjoy this book and kudos for the nice cover design. I always like to see a classy book cover over some of the cheesy ones publishers go for.
