5.0 out of 5 stars Fresh, new inspirational and humorous illustrations Oct. 23 1998

Format:Hardcover
Although this book seems to be designed primarily for preachers and other speakers, I found it to be very enjoyable reading. The author seems to have a real knack for finding spiritual applications in current event stories. It reads much like Reader's Digest brief contributions and is similar to, but complementary of the Chicken Soup series. Speakers quoting the illustrations will appreciate the individual source references with dates. The book is double indexed for easy searching; especially so, is the summary index that gives a thumbnail sketch of the stories. In addition to almost 1,000 inspirational entries, there are over 300 clean jokes and humorous anecdotes. This book is an excellent source of fresh and original illustrations for all speakers and would be a good addition to any "bathroom library".
