I have bought my husband the annual Game of Thrones Calendar for the past couple of years. He has always enjoyed the art work. I will probably buy the 2013 calendar for him. Calendars usually make a practical gift.

John Picacio is a big name when it comes to artists working in the field of fantasy and science fiction, having done many covers and illustrations. When it was announced that he would the calendar after the already excellent work from Ted Nasmith last year, mich rejoicing could be seen.
I received the calendar and I must say I am well pleased with it. Beautiful work all around. My particular favorites were a very striking Tyrion ( probably the best Tyrion I have seen yet), Melisandre, The Mountain vs Red Viper, Ned at the Godswood ( also the cover you see), and Bran reaching out to the 3-eyed crow. I guess the only one that feels a bit off to me is the one that shows The Others. It's still much better than the strange depiction of The Others in the tv series, but it's also still different from described, they should still be more angular and a bit less humanoid, with ice skin that serves as armour.
So yes, very good, and highly recommended.

I always look foward to what new calendar i might get for my new year and when i saw this one i knew i had to get it. The selection of images is really good through the whole year, making me look foward to next year to display them. If you're a fan of ASOIF or the new HBO hit series based on the books, Game of Thrones, this is a great calendar to get.

I am very pleased with the 2012 calendar. Its a good size, I can see it well from across my bedroom. For those who want to know which characters are included, here is the breakdown by month:
January - Bran Stark
February - Jon Snow and Ghost
March - Daenerys Targaryen
April - Robb Stark
May - Arya Stark
June - Tyrion Lannister
July - Melisandre
August - Jaime Lannister
September - The Mountain vs. the Red Viper
October - Sansa Stark and The Hound
November - The Others
December - Eddard Stark
The centerfold is comprised of the Jaime Lannister image for August, which to me doesn't quite get him the way I think it should be, but it is still well done. My favorites are Robb Stark, Arya Stark, and Melisandre. Arya's definitely seems to capture her attitude and character very well.
I would give it 4.5 stars overall. Awesome pictures, good size, excellent price. Strongly recommend for any fan.
