Product Description

Amazon.ca

Fans of this superheroine fantasy-adventure TV cartoon series will enjoy these 10 songs from the American soundtrack. The mambolike "Sailor Moon Theme" is a favorite. Most of the rest of the songs are Sailor Moon's (Jennifer Cihi) and are bouncy, upbeat solos expressing the exuberance of youth ("It's a New Day," "I Wanna Be a Star!"), the loyalty of friendship ("Call My Name," "Carry On"), and young love ("My Only Love"). Two of the best, the sweetly hopeful "Oh Starry Night" and the slightly syncopated "Rainy Day Man," also about young love, are by other vocalists. The pulsing "She's Got the Power" is good, but alas, too generically superheroish. It lacks the personal identification with the individual Sailor Scouts that the others have. --Fred Patten

This CD is one of many Sailor Moon CDs, but it's a must have for all Sailor Moon fans and for just anyone looking for a good CD to listen to while doing homework in their spare time!
It contains many of the hit songs you'll hear on Sailor Moon the anime show! At first, when I bought it it was because a friend of mine wanted it, but her dad wouldn't get her it! So I bought it and told her she could borrow it any time! But now, I'm really glad I've even bought it just for me, I listen to it all the time, from using it as something to wake me up in the morning to something to sooth me into a sleep!
It holds many different types of songs, such as sad songs ( Oh Starry Night & Rainy Day Man ) and happy songs ( Call My Name (And I'll Be There) & I wanna be a Star! )My personal favorites would have to be I wanna be a Star and Rainy Day Man!
Like I said, this CD contains many different songs including ::
Sailor Moon Theme - Bob Summers
I Wanna Be A Star! - Jennifer Cihi
My Only Love - Jennifer Cihi
Call My Name (And I'll Be There) - Jennifer Cihi
Oh Starry Night - Sandy Howell
It's A New Day - Jennifer Cihi
Carry On - Jennifer Cihi
Rainy Day Man - Patricia Tollet
Only A Memeory Away - Shandi Sinnamon
She's Got The Power - Stan Bush
Sailor Moon Theme (Reprise) - Bob Summers

This CD is soooo great! Just about all the songs are wonderful and fun to hear. The only bad thing found was that the tracks barely over 3 minutes long (except for "I wanna be a star", and some are even shorter.
1. Sailor Moon Theme (10/10)- You've all heard it before.
2. I Wanna Be A Star! (10/10)- This one is fun to sing and light-hearted (not to mention the longest track on this album [3:30ish]
3. My Only Love (10/10)- One of the best! This is a romantic song and it has a good melody.
4. Call My Name (And I'll Be There) (8/10)- Not bad. It's about friendship.
5. Oh Starry Night (9/10)- Jupiter sings this one. It's a pretty song about finding the riht one.
6. It's A New Day (8/10)- Another fun track.
7. Carry On (10/10)- This is good fight song. The only snag is that its short.
8. Rainy Day Man (9/10)- This is another good song about a friend whos always ther for you.
9. Only Memory Away (9/10)- Mercury sings on this one. It's about how she's going away, but is still needed.
10. She's Got The Power (8/10)- Another fight song with a cool rock beat.
11. Sailor Moon Theme (Reprise) (8/10)- Again, you've all heard this one. Not as good as the first, as it's much shorter.

I don't like those hardcore Sailor Moon fans who dis everything Dic ever did in America. This CD is actually very good, and while not on the level of the imports, it's still a standout in my music collection. What do I think of the individual tracks? Well...
1. Sailor Moon Theme-What can I say about this song? We've all heard it ten million times. I like it.
2. I Wanna Be a Star!-Dangerously catchy, this song will sneak up on you when you least expect it and demand that you listen to it.
3. My Only Love-One of my faves. Very beautiful.
4. Call My Name(And I'll Be There)-Like track 2, this song grows on you very quickly.
5. Oh Starry Night-Another great song about young love.
6. It's a New Day-Probably my least favorite on the CD. I don't know why, it just doesn't grab me like the others.
7. Carry On-I love this song because it cemented in my mind the image of Serena fighting Beryl(or Metallia-whatever).
8. Rainy Day Man-This is my favorite song on the CD. It has wonderful lyrics(though the singer sounds nothing like Jupiter).
9. Only a Memory Away-Hey, the singer sounds something like the person she's supposed to be! Great!
10. She's Got the Power-This song is half decent, if you forget it's supposed to be about Sailor Moon.
11. Sailor Moon Theme(Reprise)-Don't we all hum this song in the shower from time to time? C'mon, admit it...
Well, there it is. I would highly advise all Moonies or even wannabe Moonies to go for this. It is...excellent.
