Why go beyond the first track?, Dec 31 2010

This is a compilation of pieces for viola da gamba and cello performed by Bruno Cocset and friends. The three big works, BWV 1027-1029 are played well, with brisk tempi. But the real star on the recording is the first reading, BWV 659, Nun Komm, der Heiden Heiland.
Wow. The nailed the expressive nature of the work with a singing line, a superb-sounding organ. It's a really special track of music, a gem for sure. The familiar ending, BWV 645 Wachet Auf, has the same instrumentation, and puts a real smile on your face. My favorite CD from Mr. Cocset thus far!
