Product Description

From School Library Journal

Grade 9 Up–Once again readers meet the Sons of the Dark. In the previous installments, two of the four teens discover their talents and learn how strong the pull is from their native world, Nefandus. Now Kyle is acting oddly, and his blackouts are causing him to wake up more and more frequently in the midst of bizarre situations. When he and his friends discover the cause, they realize that the only way to help him is to rejoin him with the evil that is creating his problems. Is Kyle's newfound power strong enough to absorb it? In this book, readers also find out a bit more about what happened in the "Daughters of the Moon" series (Hyperion) after the Becoming, and more about the teens' powers. The characters are fairly predictable, but fans of the series will be reassured by the fact that these four hunks will always be exactly what they are right now. Each power builds on the powers of the other boys, so readers will anxiously await the fourth book to see exactly what Berto's strong suit will be. This is a must for those who enjoyed the first two books.–Lynn Evarts, Sauk Prairie High School, Prairie du Sac, WI

5.0 out of 5 stars I want to give 4.5 Stars, Mar 6 2005

This review is from: Sons of the Dark: Outcast - Book #3 (Hardcover)
Four stars are too low for this book, and five are a little too high. So far, this has been my favorite Sons of the Dark book, mostly because Kyle and his personal history are refreshingly interesting.
You can tell that Lynne Ewing dropped a few details about Kyle from The Prophecy-he can no longer almost read minds, and apparently was never able to. I also always found Kyle's aspiring acting career slighty unbelievable.
We find out in this book what happened to the Daughters of the Moon after The Becoming, and it's not good.
The ending was sad and maybe a little predictable-but what you predict is still really good and very exciting.
Go on, give Kyle a chance.

We find out in this book what happened to the Daughters after the Becoming and Kyle's power and that Catty and Kyle's destiny are connected and that Kyle and Catty have a lot of similarities. This is a very good book and I highely recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars love this series, July 1 2008

If you loved The Daughters of The moon you will love the sons of the dark. I just finished reading Outcast, it was great, and it made me appreciate and like Kyle better then i had before. The only thing i recommend is that you read all of the sons before you read daughters 13, because in daughters 13 it kind of tells you what happens to the guys, but that won't stop me from reading the rest of the sons. All in all these books ROCK!
