If you plan on using your Playstation Vita for game saves ONLY, then you should be getting a 4GB card. But let's face it, there will be people that want to revisit their PSP library, there will be people taking pictures, or putting their music on their vita to listen to with some games. The 32GB card adresses a lot of those problems, and although it should be a bit more reasonably priced, it did not stop me from giving up my 4GB card in favor of a 32, let's face it bigger is better. But, let's look at the size of the Vita games: Army Corps of Hell: 625 MB Asphalt: Injection: 765 MB(Demo is the same size) Ben 10 Galactic Racing: 968 MB *BlazBlue: Continuum Shift EXTEND: 3.33GB(Good luck fitting this game on a 4GB card, and be able to do anything else) Disgaea 3 Absence of Detention: 2.05GB(Version 1.00 of physical media takes 4896KB) Dungeon Hunter Alliance PSVita: 1.03GB(Cross Platform play with PS3 is not supported, Version 1.00 of physical media takes 1024KB) *Dynasty Warriors Next: 1.5GB(Demo is 214MB, Version 1.01 of Physical media with all DLC installed takes 62MB) EA Sports FIFA Soccer: 3GB(Demo is 1.7GB, and pretty sure Cross platform play is NOT supported) Escape Plan(PSN Only): 842MB F1 2011: 1.42GB Hot Shots Golf World Invitational: 1.15GB(With an online pass), Demo 280MB Hustle Kings PSVita(PSN Only): 325MB(Snooker Pack 42MB, Time Savers Pack 100KB, anything bought including the full game is shared with the PS3 version and vice versa, and cross platform play) LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7: 1.2GB Little Deviants: 940MB(Demo is the same size, Version 1.01 of physical media takes 28MB) Lumines Electronic Symphony: 722MB(Demo is the same size, Version of 1.01 of physical media takes 22MB) Michael Jackson the Experience: 1.6GB *MLB 12 The Show: 2.8GB(With an Online Pass, Cross Platform play supported, Version 1.01 of physical media takes 8768KB) ModNation Racers Road Trip: 1.5GB(Demo is 486MB) Mortal Kombat: 3GB(Version 1.00 of Physical media takes 608KB) *Motorstorm RC: Free, version 1.01 Patch with a couple cars takes 683MB Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus: 2.3GB(Version 1.00 of physical media takes 1120KB) Pinball Arcade PSVita: Version 1.00 takes 119MB installed Plants vs Zombies PSVita(PSN Only): Version 1.01 takes 76MB Rayman Origins PSVita: 932MB(Demo is the same size) Reality Fighters: 573MB(Demo is the same size, Version 1.03 of physical media takes 101MB) *Ridge Racer: 816MB(Demo is 70MB) *Shinobido 2: Revenge of Zen: 1.1GB(Demo is 240MB) StarDrone Extreme(PSN Only): 136MB(Demo is the same size, version 1.01 installed takes 167MB) Sumioni: Demon Arts(PSN Only): 288MB(Demo is the same size) Super Stardust Delta: Version 1.00 takes 216MB installed Supremacy MMA Unrestricted: 1.5GB Takes of Innocence R Japan Import, Version 1.00 takes 2080KB Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack(PSN Only): 127MB Touch My Katamari: 660MB(Demo is 99MB) *Treasures of Montezuma Blitz(PSN Only): Free, Version 1.00 installed takes 168MB *Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3: 1.5GB(With a bunch of add-ons that work for both PS3 and PSVita once purchased, Version 1.02 of physical media takes 8544KB) Uncharted: Golden Abyss: 3.2GB(Demo is 344MB, Treasure Hunter Add-on 100KB, Version 1.01 of physical media takes 71MB) Unit 13: 1.2GB(Demo is 845MB, has an online pass, Version 1.01 of physical media takes 12MB) Virtua Tennia 4: World Tour Edition: 1.2GB Wipeout 2048: 1.6GB(Has an online pass, Cross Platform play with Wipeout HD on PS3), Demo 430MB * Denotes the game is loaded with paid DLC to get you to spend more money, that is clearly not worth the price of the game itself. Exceptions are Super Stardust Delta(Since it's DLC is included in the DataConnect Pass), and Uncharted Golden Abyss because the Treasure Hunter pack is priced appropriatly. However I am not a fan of wasting bandwith and having to delete/download constantly and I hate buying multiple cards to get around this, 32GB is a decent amount and will last you a very long time if all your Vita games are physical, as of March 18th, I have 5 Physical Vita games, 4 downloaded Vita Games(Super Stardust Delta with Blast Pack), Plants vs Zombies, Hustle Kings, Motorstorm), every demo for a game I do not own(10, soon 7), 13 PSP games, only one mini compatible with my PS3 Library, all three augmented games, every app, and every non-tester media downloaded, and I still have 5.5GB left. So unless you are one of those lucky people with a PSP GO, most likely you will be able to make this card last a long time, by making all your Vita games physical that are not PSN only. As of 3/21/12, I have 898 songs on my Vita. With full copies of Lumines Electronic Symphony, and Unit 13 on the way, this should be up over 7GB again as these demo's are deleted. Star Rating: 0 for the Price, once this is around $39.99 to $59.99 this will be more reasonable, even if it didn't stop me from paying $99.99. 4 for the Storage Capacity, it's a good amount after reviewing how much I can actually fit, I upgraded my rating from 3 stars. Updated: May 11th with Pulse 4/24 and 5/8, Physical storage information for MLB 12 The Show, Dynasty Warriors NEXT, and Reality Fighters 1.03 with Weapons pack. 132 of 174 people found the following review helpful

The speed does not support the overpriced card.,

When I tested the 32gb vita memory card the speeds it was generating for reading was around 4mbps which is around a class 4 label in other SD/memory cards. The average price of a 32gb class 4 that I have seen is around 30-40 bucks. Therefore, I do not support this price gouging when they are forcing us to purchase proprietary memory cards. Really the 32gb should not have a price tag above 59.99.Vita is reasonably priced but Sony dropped the ball with the memory card pricing. This is the biggest obstacle the Vita is facing right now and it is sad that it is entirely due to Sony's own bad decision. 8 of 9 people found the following review helpful

I purchased this 32 gig PSVita card so that I would not have to constantly have to delete games or move cards from my PSVita. Because the cards are so tiny and are only made by Sony they are overly expensive.Understand this, if you do not have a memory card your PSVita is almost useless. Some games at least at the time of this review will not even boot up without a memory card installed in your PSVita. Do you really need a 32 gig memory card? Probably not but many of games and demos filled up the 8 gig card that came with the system as soon as I finished setting it up. I decided I'd get this 32 gig card so that hopefully I'd save a bit more further frustration. |
