5.0 out of 5 stars Great Dec 16 2013
By Elvick TOP 100 REVIEWER
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I've been playing Knack a lot since launch. I've beat it about four times now, going on my fifth and final (for awhile) playthrough on Very Hard.

Let me start by saying Knack is not a platformer. It's a character action game, with some light platforming. Think LEGO games, minus the LEGOs and 'puzzles'. If you go in wanting a game like Crash Bandicoot, you'll be disappointed. That's not the type of game Knack is trying to be. If Crash is 90% platforming and 10% combat, Knack is the direct opposite. 90% combat, 10% platforming. There is more platforming than I originally though the game would have, but it's not balanced out throughout the game well. It starts with some, then there's a lot of chapters without any major platforming, then it eventually starts up again.

The game either clicks with someone or it doesn't. It's designed to be easy to grasp. Meaning, it's very simple in terms of controls. Square is attack, triangle activates things prompted, circle + another button activates a special move, x is jump. And you move with the left stick, and dodge with the right stick.

Some people have issue with the simplicity, but the difficulty (normal or higher) is designed to make you think about each encounter. And the checkpoints, which some feel are unfair are designed to prevent people from mindlessly hacking away until they beat one encounter and move to the next and repeat. Which would just make the game tedious if it allowed you to get away with that on any difficulty other than easy.

Checkpoints are usually 3 battle areas and one or two platforming area apart. So you're punished if you mess up, you're either going to love this or hate it. I love it, it makes each event have a risk involved. Which keeps you on your toes.

Easy is very accessible.

5.0 out of 5 stars Knack Review Dec 9 2013
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
The thing I love about the game is the ability of the co op experience. In knack you can have another person join your game at anytime as your sidekick and then run around and bash things together. I think this game is geared toward young kids however having played video games myself since Atari I have to say I love this game. The graphics are amazing, the colours are vibrant and beautiful, the story line is excellent along with the voice acting. Whether you are an adult or a child I think you'll find a lot of fun in the story of the game, the beauty of the design and the simplicity of play. This game is the equivalent of the new age Mario. Definitely a five star review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really worth the money Aug. 12 2014
By Sabbir
As I have motion sickness can't play most (any!) of the adventure type of games as they include multiple camera viewing, but was really satisfied to get my hands on this platformer. The graphics was amazing, gameplay was good. The only complain would be it kind of had a childish theme.
Wish they bring Knack 2 and more platformers like this one for those of us who have motion sickness and can't play COD, Batman, BF and the list just goes on... :(

4.0 out of 5 stars Good game though the online rating is not so high July 12 2014

Good game though the online rating is not so high. It supports two players, and is suitable for playing with your family. I think kids will like it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun game March 11 2014

It actually was a pretty decent game considering how low the reviews were. Don't think of it as a next gen game and expect amazing graphics and you'll have fun

4.0 out of 5 stars good game but pretty short March 3 2014

Its a decent game it's funny to play with other people in multiplayer it is pretty short and once you are done there is nothing to do except run the entire story again and collect hidden artifacts you missed first time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for kids Jan. 16 2014

Kids play it a lot but there also isn't a lot of competition on ps4. I think its good. The graphics are amazing and mechanics really cool. It's just doesn't have that magic that some games do
