the environments are very real and very interactive. when i saw that this game was developed by Incog Inc, the people that developed Twisted Metal Black (one of ny favorite games), i got my hopes up. what really killed this game is the controls and the difficulty. each monster has its own unique attacks, and to do them, you have to push the buttons in the right order and combination. whenever i tried to do them, it didn't seem to make any difference than button-bashing. there is a block button, but it doesn't do squat; the enemies can still knock you out while blocking.
the difficulty was something else. i played on Easy for a while, and it was too easy at times. when i played on Medium, it was often WAY too hard.
i was hoping that this game's saving grace would be its Unlockable secret features, but even those aren't too special. you can unlock primarily different graphical layouts for the characters (the game calls them "costumes"). the costumes make no difference in gameplay. you can also unlock two secret characters and a few minigames such as "Dodgeball." to unlock things, you use Game Tokens, of which you win a different amount after each level. different Unlocks cost different amounts of tokens. this seems too easy; in Twisted Metal, you had to work to unlock the secret stuff. in this game, you just have to play the game over and over until you can afford the stuff.Read more ›
Because WOTM fails! It's not a very good game! The concept is there and good. But singing it's praises stops there! The Graphics are okay. But the big problem is that the gameplay absolutely stinks! The controls are clunky and non responsive, the camera is bad, and as many other people have said; the AI for one player adventure games is way too over the top in difficulty, even on easy mode. You'll find yourself tag teamed to death by the computer without any slack, just too damn often! I just had enough of this title after trying to give it a fair chance off and on over the last few months... It makes a much more enjoyable coaster. ::sigh::
I've given this game plenty of opportunities. Challenge is good... Feeling time and time again that it's better to be lucky than good to pass a level = Bad Game! Mmmmmkay!
I was neither too thrilled with the multi player gaming. Godzilla Destory all Monsters makes for much better multi player game!
I can see why most hardcore gamers dislike this one.... If your an overzealous B-Grade movie monster fan you may be able to forgive the definite problems with it. But definitely a rental first IMO.
The one-player game suffers a bit because the monster AIs are so good even at the easy level that they kick your rear end time after time. But the two-player game totally rules! I played this with a friend who loves Tekken, and after about half an hour he grudgingly admitted that WOTM is more fun than Tekken.Read more ›
