Right off you will be happy to know that this Does come with 3 AAA Duracell Batteries in the box. Impressed over the sound quality is an Understatement. The sound quality is astounding from this small device, and much of the big sound really comes from the unit having it's own internal battery system to power it. Really hard to explain how beautiful the range is of this speaker is, and is something that will impress. It looks like a mini Boom Tube you would buy for the trunk of a car, with the speakers at each end of it. This is the same kind of setup, but on a much smaller scale. The battery compartment that slides out will only slide as far as getting to the battery compartment. This is another nice feature of getting to the battery, no doors to loose, clips to break, or painful prying to get to the battery door open. This you just twist and it slides out to access the battery, and stays as one part. The size is just right to carry it around, and is very sturdy. The very end of it has this cleaver Pull out and Twist to expose the jack that go into the Phone stereo plug. I tested it on the HTC EVO 4G, and the Droid X which it was purchased for. In addition to the smart phones I did try it out on IPod Touch, Nano, Classic, and Mini that we own. All of them worked perfect, and seemed to work best if the ear jack of what you are plugging into has the jack To the right or left of center so you can take advantage of the built in stand that makes use of the port being off center to prop up the Phone or IPod in a way that it cradles the phone and places it on it's side. This is meant to listen to music or watch movies with rich sound quality on a device that can rotate it's screen to view in Landscape.
This is a worthy investment for anyone looking for a nice punch in portable speakers, that have the sound quality that's smooth and consistence across the sound range.

This works well with every MP3 player I tried it with (5). Let a friend barrow it, had to steel it back, he loved it, too. Dose what it says it will. Good sound and you don't have to "hug" it to hear it. Slick design. In a word 'spiffy'.

I bought this product to use with an iPhone 4.
The design of this product is very well thought out; it is easily collapsed and stowed away and just as easily opened up and plugged into your device. There is even a built-in bass release in the speaker into which the headphone jack slides upon closure. Very clever.
I especially like the easily accessed battery housing that does not rely on exposed clips or other breakable plastic. You simply twist the top to unlock it and the battery housing slides right out!
The sound is quite acceptable for the price point and the size of this unit. If you're expecting room-filling sound, you're probably an idiot.
Pros:
-Uses AAA batteries, easily replaceable.
-Compact design.
-Allows for easy movie-watching.
Cons:
-Cheapish construction implies that the "clicky" feel of the moving parts will fade with time.
-Since it is built for landscape orientation, you need to enable Portrait Lock on the iPhone if, for instance, you don't want the CoverFlow interface coming up when browsing music.
