Good little unit,
This review is from: Sony ICF-CD815 AM/FM Stereo CD Clock Radio with Dual Alarm (Electronics)
Actually it was larger than I imagined it would be so if your night table is a little cramped this might not be the unit for you. I had lots of room so it's not an issue for me. The size of it does allow for the largest time display I've ever had on a clock radio which is appreciated in the wee hours not having to squint to see the time. Another good thing about the display is the dimness adjustment. I've had other green light displays on clock radios and they always tend to be too bright for me, literally lighting up the bedroom. The Sony has a very nice dim setting that allows me to see it well enough and doesn't shine in my face. The sound is quite good for a clock radio. I have another clock radio/CD and this Sony puts it to shame in the sound department. Overall I'm very happy with this unit.

Great CD Clock Radio,
This review is from: Sony ICF-CD815 AM/FM Stereo CD Clock Radio with Dual Alarm (Electronics)
Sony has long made quality CD Clock Radios. Although the CD technology may seem old in the Ipod age, it has its advantages. Our older Sony products were having a dodgy time playing CDs all the way through, which was very frustrating. Kudos to Sony for still making such a product.Of course this player has reasonable sound quality. Its interior radio antenna and digital tuning general captures our favourite radio station, which is more than we can say for any of the other radios in our home. Its display light dims nicely via a three setting switch at the back of the unit but I think it could be better and use the sleep bar at the front to dim instead (as some other products do). The product selling photos didn't make it clear that the product body is black on the top and front and off-white on its side and back. Fortunately for us this wasn't a problem. Although we have yet to use it, it does come with a digital music player input plug at its front, so those who prefer Ipods as an alternative and are not bothered by their relatively bright dimmest setting will be happy with that possibility.

So many features...,
This review is from: Sony ICF-CD815 AM/FM Stereo CD Clock Radio with Dual Alarm (Electronics)
... and I love every one of them. Some of the features which I thought were a little over the top, when I actually started looking at the product and using the alarm clock - I realized how helpful they were. For example: - 2 different alarms can be set! I set music as the first one, and the buzzer as the second alarm for when I really need to wake-up. - you can set the brightness of the clock... Studies show that light emitted from all of our different electronics can affect our sleep - so dimming the clock is so handy and good for my sleep! - I like to fall asleep listening to music sometimes, but I don't want it to run all night. With this, you can set it to automatically turn off after a set amount of time. Brilliant! I hope this alarm clock lasts a long time. I really like it.
