Sony has long made quality CD Clock Radios. Although the CD technology may seem old in the Ipod age, it has its advantages. Our older Sony products were having a dodgy time playing CDs all the way through, which was very frustrating. Kudos to Sony for still making such a product.
Of course this player has reasonable sound quality. Its interior radio antenna and digital tuning general captures our favourite radio station, which is more than we can say for any of the other radios in our home. Its display light dims nicely via a three setting switch at the back of the unit but I think it could be better and use the sleep bar at the front to dim instead (as some other products do). The product selling photos didn't make it clear that the product body is black on the top and front and off-white on its side and back. Fortunately for us this wasn't a problem. Although we have yet to use it, it does come with a digital music player input plug at its front, so those who prefer Ipods as an alternative and are not bothered by their relatively bright dimmest setting will be happy with that possibility.
