The MDR-V150 Studio Monitor Series headphones are built for your ears, with a supra-aural design for listening comfort during long sessions. The 30mm diameter drivers provide deep bass, and reversible earcups offer convenient single-sided monitoring.
The MDR-V150s incorporate high-end materials and advanced engineering to provide a clean, detailed sound for professional applications.
These headphones are ready for day-in, day-out use at high output levels.
The MDR-V150s rest lightly on the ear, and the driver is positioned the correct distance from the ear canal, for a controlled environment and better sound.
Reversible earcups enable single-sided monitoring flexibility, for DJing applications, checking mono mixes, etc.
Ferrite produces high energy without being bulky, to help produce ample sound output--98 dB/mW sensitivity.
This headband design distributes the headphone's weight over a wide area. Less pressure means more comfortable listening.
These drivers are larger than those found in many headphones, for deeper bass, lower distortion, and a wider dynamic range. Bass response extends down to a low 18 Hz.
For maximum conductivity with minimal noise--conducts electricity better than conventional copper.

Great Headset. Great Price.,

This review is from: Sony MDR-V150 Studio Monitor Headphones (Electronics)
I ordered these on Sunday with standard shipping and received them on Friday the same week.To me it seemed like a lifetime because I would be taking my usual 2 hour commute to university WITHOUT MUSIC. Unfortunately no one was home to sign for the package so I had to go pick it up at the Purolator agent but that was fine, it was only 10 minutes from my house. I've been using normal Sony headphones (in-ears) for a while and decided I should upgrade to a decent pair of headsets. After reading hundreds of reviews, watching videos, I came to the conclusion that for this price and sound quality, these were the headphones I needed. I'm not an audiophile but I do like to listen to my music thoroughly and try to pick out the layers of music. With this headset, I can do that nice and clearly and the music sounds awesome. Package came nicely packed with those bags of air tightly surrounding my precious headsets. Also I'd like to mention customer service reps were lighting fast. As I got impatient within a day of ordering, I had mailed to ask when my order would be arriving. Within the same day, I received a prompt reply outlining when, how and that I would be given a tracking number. About the headphones: Really nice cushions, feels really soft on my head. Headband is adjustable so no need to worry about your head being slightly larger than other peoples. It's very light as well and the cord is really thick and long. Very good quality as most of the time my headphones die because the wire rips on the inside or out where it connects to the jack. I've worn them about 10 hours now listening to all types of music and hearing them in a whole new light. I absolutely love them. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND these headsets if you are looking for affordable, good looking and great sounding headsets.

great value headset,
This review is from: Sony MDR-V150 Studio Monitor Headphones (Electronics)
Great value headset. Arrived on the first day of the estimated timeframe. The product comes with an larger audio jack that is detachable. The one concern I have is the material for the earpad covering. This faux-leather/rubber/plastic is susceptible to tearing and moisture absorption. However, it's at a price where a replacement or upgrade is the better option. The audio qualities are decent given the price point and is suitable for office environments. Current trials with bass-heavy music holds up fairly nicely (again, given price point) Thies product is also not meant for someone who is serious about their music. all-in-all, it's a great introductory over-ear headphone for the cost-concious.
