Simple but uniquely functional,

Other than the predecessor to this model, I have not found any other headphones quite like the Sony MDR-W08L vertical in-the-ear model.It seems that all other headphones are either some type of earbud or pads, neither of which I like from a comfort perspective. These headphones, on the other hand, I can wear for hours without noticing them. Earbuds also tend to fall out easily for me, whereas these (and padded headphones) stay on more securely. The other advantage of these headphones is that unlike earbuds and many padded headphones, they do not block external sound, which for me is a plus, because I want to stay aware of my surroundings. If you prefer to block out sound, then obviously these will not suit you. Sound production is acceptable but not great. But the aforementioned comfort and non-blocking of external sound more than make up for that for me. I was disappointed that Sony Canada discontinued this model and that Sony USA does not ship it to Canada. Thankfully, amazon.ca continues to offer this item. But just in case it goes entirely out of production, I've ordered 2 as backups.

I was looking for those earphones from when i was younger that came with the Yellow walkmans. The earphones are soft, the headband is adjustable. perfect. Other then they are grey, they are exactly like the old sony walkman headphones!!

Hard to find in stores, but this simple headphone set is just what I need. Sound is good and fits perfectly. The price is good too.
