I'm no audiophile; but I do know what I like - plus I have spent quite a few dollars on high end headphones in my time.

For the price - these are probably the best headphones by any measure.

If you look carefully; you'll see these headphones in behind-the-scenes videos in recording studios all the time. From what I can tell, they are what pros Actually use.

Don't waste money on Beats by Dre; these are the true hotness.

Overall, I'm happy with this purchase. The strength of these headphones is in the high-mids and lows, in terms of clarity and response. However, the highs sound slightly over-driven (in comparison to a pair of AKGs that are about twice as expensive) and the low-mids are somewhat less present than I would like. This leads to a less warm sound than some might be looking for. Nevertheless, I think most people (myself included) would be happy with these. Good value for money.

These headphones give you some of the cleanest sound going. I like the 10Hz-20kHz range. And I can practice my bass guitar without any popping noises.

I have been using another SONY model (MDR-V700) for DJing in the past decade and just now decided to use this model for listening to music at home. it is extremely comfortable and agile (was even used as DJing headphones in the past by some very known DJs). The sound is crisp and balanced. Nothing goes missing and it delivers enough power to make the music felt and not just heard.

May not be an eye-candy but there's a very good reason why this model is still in shape since it was created back in 1991. This provides just as much value as headphones costing twice as much.

Highly recommended.

These are comfortable, good sounding headphones, available at a fair price. I'm told they are a staple in the audio recording and broadcasting industries. If that's true, I understand why. The sound is accurate, so if you are looking for bass-heavy headphones for gaming or non-critical listening, you may want to look elsewhere.

Ever had trouble listening to those small details in songs that somehow show up in some speakers and not in others? Well these headphones really balance the sound and give you as much detail as you can get, good high quality pair for a decent prize. Much better than those Bose headphones they retail for 300 bucks.

I got to work on a Friday and discovered tragedy had struck... someone had broken my headphones. I had a list of suspects, one of them was the nice old lady who cleans the radio station after hours. I thought "Who's she kidding, she totally came in here late at night, took my headphones for a rip, and broke them thinking I would not notice." I totally noticed, but that's besides the point. The point is I needed a new set of headphones, and I needed them fast. I've always been partial to Sony MDR7506 Professional Large Diaphragm Headphones. For a few reasons, one is because the coiled cord reminds me of the headphones at Kindergarten that I would listen to jungle book read along tapes on, and two, because they really are the best headphones on the market. I mean I know beats by Dre are the hip new thing, but these ones sound great, and don't require me to charge them or change batteries in them. In fact these headphones are so great, I'm pretty certain that even Dr. Dre says "These headphones sure are better than those beats by Dre headphones the kids are into" The best part was when I placed my order the computer told me that if I hurried I could be guaranteed delivery by Tuesday. I was like "oh I'm hurrying!" Now the headphones arrived on Wednesday, and while I could find fault in the headphones for the late delivery, it's not the headphones fault. I'm guessing some dude named Frank who works in shipping got lit up and was too hung over to mail them out in an orderly fashion. Also I live in the middle of nowhere, so an extra day was still better than the five years it takes everyone else to ship things to me. In conclusion these headphones really are pretty swell and I will be keeping my eye on the cleaning lady from here on out.
