I'm no audiophile; but I do know what I like - plus I have spent quite a few dollars on high end headphones in my time.

For the price - these are probably the best headphones by any measure.

If you look carefully; you'll see these headphones in behind-the-scenes videos in recording studios all the time. From what I can tell, they are what pros Actually use.

Don't waste money on Beats by Dre; these are the true hotness.

Overall, I'm happy with this purchase. The strength of these headphones is in the high-mids and lows, in terms of clarity and response. However, the highs sound slightly over-driven (in comparison to a pair of AKGs that are about twice as expensive) and the low-mids are somewhat less present than I would like. This leads to a less warm sound than some might be looking for. Nevertheless, I think most people (myself included) would be happy with these. Good value for money.

These headphones give you some of the cleanest sound going. I like the 10Hz-20kHz range. And I can practice my bass guitar without any popping noises.

I've heard many other headphones and own a few of them but needed a closed type monitors with decent sound on a budget. Honestly, these Sony exceeded my expectations. My home headphones are Sennheisers HD650 and i compared them with MDR7506 using a Lovely Cube amp connected to OPPO95. Well, Sonys have a completely different sound. Not in a bad way though, the highs and lows are well extended and sometimes they seem as it is too much (esp. highs) compared to HD650. On a particularly clean recordings from Chesky you can notice the Senns advantage in resolution and soundstage but hey, these are only 1/5 the price! What interesting, these Sony sound very well with portable devices (Nexus7&SG5). Sound isolation is average but enough for my purposes. I guess i will use both for different listening sessions and for different music. Overall, very pleased so far.

Now i'm no audiophile, but as far as i can tell the sound is pretty good. Very clear, bass is good and all that. Warning: if you have TMJ or any jaw problems DO NOT BUY THEM. They start to kill your jaw after about half an hour, as they sit right on top of the joint. Unfortunately it's too late for me to return them, but since they are such a good quality pair of headphones and the sound is excellent I don't mind too much.

I design high-end speaker for a living, and I know good sound.
These headphones are the best I've heard so far. They have very clear and deep bass (not overpowering though).
EXTREMELY low distortion too.
They are pretty light and comfortable and got better over time.
I have tried Grado, Bose, Kliptch, Beats and like these better than all of them.

The only thing I would change about the them is to dial down the mid-range a bit.

Make sure though that if you buy a pair to google "Fake Sony MDR-7506" -- there are a lot of fakes out there, and they are hard to spot, but the internet is rife with videos about how to tell if yours are fake or not. The seller that mine came from were definitely real!
